(If our service was better, I would have rated 5 stars instead of 2 and not even said a word.)
My wife told me about how famous this place was, so we attended for brunch. We arrived around 10:30-40ish and waited about 10 minutes for a table. It was slammed with every seat filled, so we were excited for all the rage. Ordered our drinks and an appetizer. Water came quick, coffee came almost 10-20 minutes later. Mine was watered down from melted ice. Wifeâs was fine. Ordered our food next. Tables cleared out, so we expected quick food to table. Fast forward almost an hour and some change later, other tables have gotten their food and we are met with, âEverything okay? Your food is almost done, itâs on its way soon.â Over and over. Around 12:10-20 our food finally arrived. My wifeâs order was incorrect. As soon as I was asked did we need anything else, I asked for to go boxes because we were not hungry and ready to leave. When my waitress came to check on how our food was, I just asked for the check. We walked out of the door almost at the two hour mark. Our entire Saturday bogged to a halt over a single brunch meal.
My food quality was 10/10 in taste and presentation. But after waiting damn near two hours, we barely touched our plates. Service: I never nor did my wife get a refill on water. Our food came so late I was contemplating just leaving mid order. We didnât receive anything complementary or a formal apology from the manager for being overpassed and waiting for so long. At that point, I should have honestly stated I would not pay or send our food back and pay for the water, coffee and appetizer to send a message of disappointment and time wasted as they wasted our time. I also should not have tipped, honestly donât know why I did.
We will return again in the future and give it a second chance. If it goes well, 5 stars and I will delete my negative review. If it goes about the same, 1 star and I will most likely voice my complaints to the manager and reinforce...
Read moreI was super excited to finally try this place and traveled from an hour away for our anniversary lunch. I ordered a fried chicken salad with no cheese and no tomatoes and ranch on the side. Server said no problem. The wait for the food was quite a while but we didnât mind because it was kind of busy and the food is cooked to order. When it came out my salad had tons of cheese and tomato. It wasnât just a sprinkle, if it had been I would have gladly picked it off, no problem. The server was very very nice and took it back to be remade. Over 25 minutes later my dining companion was completely finished eating and ready to go to so we then requested the salad to go so I could eat it on the long drive home. The server said she was going to ask the manager to discount the ticket for the inconvenience. We said it WASNâT necessary but she said she definitely was because the order was wrong(receipt and ticket were right) so we said ok and thanks a lot, itâs nice when a business cares that a meal went so terribly wrong. She was waiting for the manager to come out of the office. We waited more than another 15 min and the server looked so embarrassed to have to tell us after all that waiting that the manager refused to discount the ticket at all. So after all of that, I open up my salad that was in a bag until I got into the car and it was a mess like an angry child made the salad and dumped a mountain of green cabbage into the container instead of lettuce. I donât recall any salad having this crazy amount of huge pieces of green cabbage and purple cabbage. I canât remember the last time I posted a bad review, but this place was over the top with bad service from the management and the bitter kitchen. Itâs been over two weeks, and I am still upset and shocked at how a customer can be so polite and understanding, and a place of business be so...
Read moreThis was me and my husband first time at Toast Yolk. We were very excited about trying out breakfast, but wonât be back again. The first disappointment was our drinks. The drinks themselves tasted good. But we ordered a mimosas and Bloody Mary when we sat down. 15 minutes later we had to ask our waitress about them. We had planned to try out a few of the different drinks, but unfortunately didnât get the chance too. The service was slow and our waitress was never around. The food was okay. My husband ordered the Southern Fried Arnold. The chicken was nice and crispy. He was disappointed that his poached egg didnât make it. Both eggs were already broken on top of his meal when he received his plate. Not the biggest deal, but not what you look forward to when you get a poached egg. I ordered the Brisket Tacos. When they came out with our food they handed me an omelet. I explained that I had a different order. About 10 minutes later the waitress finally walks by and ask what happened to my food. I explained. She rolled her eyes and said âIâll be backâ. 10 more minutes later she came back and asked if I ordered a Southwestern omelet. Again, I explained I ordered the Brisket Tacos. 10 more minutes and I finally received my order. So, 20 minutes after my husband had already received his plate of food. The omelet and flour tortilla werenât even warm. I just ate though. We were ready to go at that point. It was disappointing. The waitress wasnât rude, but you could definitely tell she didnât care. She was very unbothered about the mix up. She barely gave us the time of day. She even rung us up incorrectly. Honestly, if the customer service was better, we would try this place again. Things happen, we get that. No big deal. But customer service is...
