A Must Visit for Brunch Lovers!
Metro Diner in Dothan has quickly become one of my favorite spots for a delicious, laid-back meal! On my recent visit, I decided to try the avocado toast, and it did not disappoint. The toast itself was perfectly crispy, providing a great foundation for the creamy, fresh avocado spread generously on top.
They added a light sprinkle of seasoning and fresh ingredients that took it to the next level. It wasn’t just an average piece of toast—this dish was balanced and full of flavor, perfect for someone who loves a good mix of textures and taste. So good!!!
What I appreciated most was the attention to detail. The portion size was just right, leaving me feeling full without being overstuffed. The presentation was beautiful, almost too pretty to eat (but trust me, you’ll want to dig in!). The dish was served quickly, despite how busy the diner was, which speaks volumes about their efficiency.
The staff was friendly and welcoming, checking in often to make sure everything was perfect. The atmosphere of Metro Diner is both cozy and lively, making it an excellent spot for everything from a quick bite to a longer, leisurely brunch. Whether you’re grabbing a solo meal or catching up with friends, this place hits the mark every time.
If you’re looking for a new brunch spot in Dothan, give Metro Diner a try. You won’t regret it, especially if you’re a fan of avocado toast! Highly recommend!
Parking is easy. Right around the diner. We waiting about 10 minutes for a seat. Not bad for a busy...
Read moreJust tried this location for the first time. I was so excited to get Eggs Benedict and my husband had Biscuits and Gravy. My husband's food was excellent. Unfortunately my egg whites were extremely raw. When another waitress stopped at our table (not our waitress) I explained that the whites of the Eggs were raw. I love the yolk runny. So she said she would get me new Eggs. I waited over 20 minutes. My husband had completely finished his. I watched as several people got Eggs Benedict. When it came out one egg was perfect. The other raw. Finally our waitress came back. I explained it was raw again. She said she took it off the check but would have them cook more. At this point it was not worth it. I admit I was disappointed and requested to talk with the manager. After explaining what I experienced he made a number of excuses. Eg. Staff make mistakes. I agreed but also said they should be held accountable. Once is a mistake. Twice is a problem. It's scary to complain anymore for fear of the ridiculous hate that tends to be shown. I appreciated that I did not have to pay for 2 uneaten meals. Like that was a big favor. Taking responsibility with a meaningful apology and maybe a $5 gift card to try and keep us as guests would have gone a long way. What a shame. And before anyone wonders. I still left a tip as I dont blame waitresses for the...

Best costumer service I’ve ever experienced at any restaurant and one of the best restaurants I’ve ever been to in my life.
The food blew away my expectations. The menu is a nice mix of Diner classics with a southern twist. My wife had the fried chicken and I had the shrimp and grits and a cup of shrimp corn chowder. Everything was fresh, full of flavor, and absolutely delicious. The chicken was crispy and juicy; the redskin mashed potatoes were clearly homemade and incredible. The shrimp corn chowder was creamy and flavorful. The shrimp and grits were in a delightful cream sauce, flavorful and delicious.
The restaurant got busy and my dish sat in the kitchen window for a bit too long. Without question, the manager was happy to have the kitchen make a fresh one. Mistakes happen, but it’s all about how it’s handled, and the management did not disappoint. I was thoroughly impressed.
My wife and I will definitely be returning to try out other items...
