Ellianos Coffee — Restaurant in Douglas

I don’t live in town so on occasion I will stop and grab a coffee with no ice for the next morning. Today I ordered a large iced coffee and asked for no ice. It came out to be 5.67. When she handed me my cup, I noticed it wasn’t full so I asked if I could have a full cup, the cashier said sure and took my drink back to have them fill it then charged me another 1.08. To which I responded “that’s crazy” and then handed her 1.25 and told her to keep the change. I understand it’s not the cashier’s fault so no blame to her, but how in the world does it make sense to charge me more for no ice? And to top it all off the coffee was full of coffee grounds. I go here often and typically prefer ellianos over Starbucks but I’ve never had that happen to me there. It would be one thing if an upcharge for no ice was displayed on the menu or in the app but it most definitely isn’t. Anyyyway. Typically I love Elliano's. I live in Dublin so I always look forward to it when we come home to visit. This morning I took my 4 year old little girl in for a coffee/hot chocolate date and was very disappointed. This is the one and only time I've ever been disappointed here. So, not trying to knock. I just think someone should be aware. Nobody was rude. But the atmosphere felt rather unprofessional and not family friendly. I love music but the music was not appropriate for my little girl. We got a hot chocolate, coffee, chocolate chip cookies, and blueberry muffin. After paying we found out they didn't have chocolate chip cookies. So, I said we'd try a different kind. My 4 year old didn't approve, which is fine. Life isn't perfect. But it would be better to let your customer know before they pay for something that they don't have it available. Me and my sister in-law got the “cafe dolce” freezers and it was so savory! It was very fast and they instantly took my order after welcoming me in.
