Had high hopes after seeing the owner in there working himself. So I ordered a steak med well. Now I said that 3 times, mind you, so 1st time steak was still purple inside. A good cardiac nurse could have revived it and had it chewing cud in 10 minutes. After a while, I finally got someone to take it back to visit the kitchen, I say that because low and behold a blood transfusion and set of paddles, it would have been mooing again! Took a while, got anouther waitress to take it back again. Uhh, I got it back, and well, it was no longer bleeding, yet it would have made a pair of good shoes. The waitress family to owner apparently snarked that it was now done. So instead of taking care of the customer cause they got it wrong, they microwaved it to death and then stomped that sucker flat before being eude to meg. So let's see, i paid $100.00 + for my meal, and my dog got to eat the steak. Hey, the place looked decent very nice paintings, and my shrimp tasted decent though, waitress got my baked tater wrong if you call a thing the size of and as hard as a small fist a baked potato. I would have been ashamed that i could not at least buy the big taters at Wally World. Oh, the table next to us had to get their own drink refills we refused to and barley got drinks during the meal. Got an app of the cheese it was good and hot, but the marinara sauce was almost frozen. I do not know about you, but I like mine warm. I do not want it to chill me cheese sticks! My daughter said that it was the way it was when they went when it opened and they had the same issues. However, we thought that after 4 months, they would have fixed it. The calamari is extremely delicious! I order two orders! Shrimp Alfredo was good. Can’t believe they have a tiny bar in the back. Very cozy. So I went back on a Sunday after my daughter got married. My daughter ordered the fried oyster platter. Her son tasted on and said: “It tastes like nothing!” That was true. The batter was the only thing good about them. Plus mine were cold… Again the calamari was ordered. I ordered a salad and oysters to go along with the order. I was disappointed when I was almost finished with my meal and I had to ask her if she forgot my calamari? She said: “No! Let me see where it is!” She had clearly forgotten about them. I had a tad of salad and one oyster left, before I bothered to ask her about it. The problem was there was not enough staff to handle the four tables of customers! She asked how my daughter’s cocktail was. Because that was her 1st time making that drink!! 😳 I was concerned that for a Sunday afternoon, the place was virtually empty!! I pray they get better at time management, because with only four table-not sure why it took 25 minutes to get my calamari!! The poor young waitress was doing the best she could-clearly. This was our first visit after it was recommended by a family member. We were greeted as soon as we came in and were told we could sit where we wanted. It was after the lunch crowd so there was ample seating in the front. Our waitress was busy assisting another table so another one came and took our drink order. I had the shrimp and grits (cheese) blackened and my mom had the Tilapia grilled. Both of us had side salads which were fresh and adequately sized. The shrimp and grits was good but it was very basic which is not necessarily a bad thing. The Tilapia was also above average in size and average in taste. The hush puppies were very small and a little over done with not much flavor. Considering it was not relative to why I came, they were of little consequence to this review rating. Overall, the food was good and well proportioned for the price. A gentleman who I presume to be either the owner or manager came by to check on us and the other tables which was pleasant. The dining area was very clean as were the dishes. I would recommend this restaurant for lunch or late lunch.
