Beef 'O'Brady's is the quintessential sports bar with a menu better than most. Comprising mostly of typical pub fare, but with some unique items on it as well. Having eating at a Beef 'O'Brady's only once in the past (it's been at least 15 years since we ate at a location back in Michigan), we only recently discovered that this location was about 15 minutes from home. That made it the perfect choice for a Friday night dinner.
Being a sport pub, the restaurant has multiple screens with sports-related shows going. The bar is huge and well stocked, and there's also a small game from for kids. (Why I lumped those two items into the same sentence defies explanation.) There is music overhead, but not so loud that you couldn't have a conversation, and it was mostly 80s and 90s (which is right in my comfort zone).
When we arrived it wasn't terribly busy, we sat down immediately, and our server was bam right there for our drink orders. We here Hungry with a capital H, so we ordered an appetizer (something we rarely do). The Spinach Artichoke dip was that victim. I ordered the Amarillo Firecracker Burger, my wife the Grilled Chicken Wrap.
The appetizer came out amazingly fast...and was equally amazingly good. Some spinach artichoke dips can be dry, but this was perfect, and served with warm, fresh tortilla chips.
The timing for this visit was pretty spot-on, because no sooner had we finished the appetizer when our main courses arrived. The burger (I'm uploading photo) looked like it was in a hurry to be eaten...so I had to oblige.
The Amarillo Firecracker Burger was amazingly good, but I was hoping for more of the firecracker part, having fried jalapeños and all. Not really a complaint, just an observation. The fries were better than most pub fries, served hot and well seasoned. My wife said that grilled chicken wrap was VERY good, and we make quick work of our meals. As with everything else about this visit, cashing out was easy, as our server was very attentive and had great timing.
While I'm now said that we haven't been going to Beef 'O'Brady's regularly since our last visit nearly 15 years ago, I'm glad that there's one about 15 minutes from home. I could see myself frequenting this place.
OH...and there's a television in the...
Read moreWe have ate Beef's on Blankenbaker regulary for YEARS, sometimes more than once a week, which is why I was completely shocked over the complete disregard when we were in there last week. We were there for lunch and it was busy, but not near as busy as I have seen it. The waitress that had our table had to be flagged down for EVERYTHING. People at other tables had taken to holding up their glasses in the air just to get a refill. On my particular order, she brought the food to the others at the table, then proceeded to ask me if it as "ok if they put pepper jack on your hamburger instead of Provolone?" So, she recognized that the order was not what I asked for, and instead of going ahead and having it remade, she asks me if it is OK. Also, I had ordered a To Go of 15 boneless wings. When it was time to check out, she brought my togo wings all bagged up and I paid. Bill totaled $72.00. $21.99 was the wings. When I got home, the wings went in the fridge for husband when he came home from work. SO, 6:00 rolls around and low and behold, wings are NOT boneless and they are plain. I started calling Beef's at 6:00 and the phone was busy until I quit about 18 calls later at 10:00. I finally got ahold of someone the next day, she took the ticket number and what had happened and told me she would call me back with what they could do. I told her I just wanted a credit or gift card for the 21.00, I didn't really want money back and since we go in there often, just to put my name somewhere there and I would pick it up or use it the next time we were in. So, she said she would call me back... that was 6 days ago. I guess she got busy, or simply doesn't value...
Read moreAbsolutely horrible horrible horrible customer service!!!!! After traveling long hours we came across a name we thought we could trust, Beef Obrady's. We called ahead out of courtesy to see if there were any dining restrictions or hour changes and was told no and the restaurant was closing in 45 mins. When we walked in it was a different story. We called from the parking lot but when we walked in her story changes. It went from yes we are open to oh our kitchen closes in 5 minutes. Never have I heard of a restaurant closing at a certain time but the kitchen closing 45 minutes beforehand and IF THAT WAS THE CASE, why not mention that on the phone. As I said before HORRIBLE HORRIBLE HORRIBLE...
