24 Members of Swan Pointe went to “I Love Pollo” on Thursday night. Everyone was excited to go for 2 reasons, it was going to be our first visit there or they had already eaten there and were anxiously waiting for Rotisserie Chicken. I think that must be one of their claim to fame! I loved their menu, it was colorful, had pictures of what most of the items looked like. There is a great variety! 10 Appetizers, 16 Tacos (choice of Corn or Flour Tortilla) 7 Tortas (Sandwiches) with fries, 2 Salads, 3 Empanadas, 3 sizes of Rotisserie Chickens (1/4, 1/2, and a Full Chicken), 3 Quesadillas, 2 Burritos, Wings (6 or 10) and 4 Desserts. You can’t beat this! We met the Manager, Robert as he was taking our orders. Esteban, our server, brought out the teas and sodas. When the food was brought to us, there was no confusion on who to give the food to. Robert did an excellent job. Everyone really seemed to love the food they had. Wonderful place! Once the word gets out about how great it is, I bet it will be hard to find a table!! The food was great, portions are generous, and prices are very fair. Friendly service as well. Dining options indoor and outdoor. The menu is beyond what I have seen in similar restaurants and gave us options for the whole family. Only thing I could even complain about, which really was not a big deal, was that they forgot the chipotle mayo that is supposed to come on the wrap, so it was a little dry. But it didn’t keep me from eating it- still good! Also as a side note, while the server was very friendly and helpful, I don’t see the necessity of having a full service server there instead of ordering your food at the counter, as it undoes the reasonable menu prices a bit when you have to pay a larger tip. Plus when you walk in, you don’t get that kind of atmospheric vibe of “sit down and wait for a server to take your order.” But those are minor things that will not prevent us from coming back again and again. Had to amend my rating from 5 to 1 stars. The food and service continually going downhill after they opened. We have eaten here 10-15 times and spent close to $1,000 at this restaurant. The problem is the inconsistency, the chicken is always the same but everything else changes every time. The flavor of the sides change, the mac and cheese used to be spicy but is now bland, the green beans now have a new weird brown sauce on them. Different dipping Sauces everytime and incorrect or incomplete orders just about every time. This time, chicken was luke warm which is a food safety hazard and the green beans were cold. Raised concerns to the staff and they seem like they could care less. I guess that's why it changed from I love pollo to I love tacos.
