A Timeless Treat — Restaurant in Douglasville

It’s my first time trying this establishment and I can truly say these ladies know how to cook soul food! I’ve been trying a few of these new soul food restaurants that have come to waDouglasville recently and by far this is the best! It also happens to be very close to my house so I will be coming here quite often! I had the baked chicken, potato salad and collard greens. The chicken was a big size leg quarter not skimpy like other places I’ve tried recently, and the meat was so moist and tender, not greasy, it was falling off the bone. The flavor was excellent! I also tried the potato salad and let me tell you I don’t eat everybody’s potato salad, but I haven’t had potato salad this good since my mama’s potato salad, almost made me cry! Lol Next were the collard greens and they too were very flavorful and tender and had very few stems. My spouse had the vegetable plate and the Lima beans were awesome. I love whatever was mixed with them, maybe a bit of celery or chow chow, not sure which one but the flavor was delicious! And finally someone’s making a Mac and cheese truly from scratch with real sharp cheddar cheese, not that velveta what I call fake cheese stuff! This Mac and cheese was made with love. I wish I’d gotten a second portion. For dessert I tried the banana pudding and it too was delicious! The bananas were fresh and the filling was light and airy! I tried to save some for later and ended up eating the whole container in one sitting lol! The red velvet cheesecake was to die for as well. The cornbread was sweet and complimented the whole meal plus you also get a beverage choice of bottled water or ginger ale along with the meal. I will definitely be returning to try more items! I’m only leaving a review because I go off of ratings when I want to try something new but I’m not feeling overly adventurous. Not too many restaurants are literally take them or leave them, so I decided to give my first impressions of A Timeless Treat.

The Great Customer service, 100/10. Polite, helpful and welcoming. The cornbread and yams were delicious! The sweet potato cheesecake was tasty even though it was still partially frozen. I just allowed it to thaw out at room temperature.

Room for Improvement The restaurant had an unpleasant seafood odor. My chicken tenders were cooked in old grease, overall dark in color with a bitter aftertaste. I didn’t finish them which was unfortunate because that was my main reason for my visiting A Timeless Treat. Fried chicken. The mac n cheese wasn’t cheesy enough for my personal liking, average at best. The collard greens don’t melt in your mouth.

A Timeless Treat: A Soul Food Restaurant with a Timeless Taste. I had the pleasure of enjoying A Timeless Treat's delicious food while working on the set of a short film. The restaurant catered for the cast and crew, and the food was simply amazing. The food was hot, fresh, and flavorful, and it was clear that it was made with love. The staff were friendly and helpful, and they went out of their way to make sure that everyone was happy. My favorites were the creamy, gooey mac and cheese, the fresh green beans, and the sweet, moist, melt-in-your-mouth cornbread.
