HORRIBLE, HORRIBLE EXPERIENCE!!!! Yesterday my daughter went into the restaurant to place an order. She came back to the car and showed me the receipt and then proceeded to share that when she walked in (the all-white establishment) the workers all just stared. The workers being the two women who take the orders and the men who actually do the food preparation. My daughter asked "Mom, you know how places normally ask you your name for your order?" "Well, they didn't ask me." The damn receipt had her name as "Braids".
I took the receipt back inside the store and asked to speak with someone because I had an issue. I went on to say that in this day and time it is crazy ridiculous how people can be so ignorant and insensitive in how they treat others. And that many jump on that train of ignorance only to expose who they really are: crass, crude and pitiful shells of human beings.
The woman who took my daughter's order started with the stuttering and fumbling of her words to drum up a pathetic piece of an apology. Her excuse was that she was bad with remembering names, but I quickly reminded her that she made sure to remember and input the woman "Tracy" (actual name on receipt) whose order she was taking as I walked into the restaurant. And as she continued blabbering, the other woman behind the counter took out the amount that my daughter paid for the order and placed it before me on the counter.
You could literally hear a pin drop in that place- with looks of cluelessness they all just stared while the exchange went on. I directed my statement while pointing to each individual that we are all humans and deserve to be treated with respect and dignity. And that my daughter has a name and should have been treated with respect to have used the name that she was given. She should have been treated fairly like 'Tracy with the good hair'. Our black earned dollars spend everywhere, but will not be spent ever again at their...
Read moreThe food is usually pretty good - but I have to give it 1 star because I never got mine until everyone else at the table was done and asking for the check .... 3x we needed to ask after a 2.25 hour ordeal.
The Giacoboli used to be a staple back when the old man ran the place - new owners are falling way short. Really, a stromboli you can hold in the palm of your hand (I think that is a pizza turn-over lol) - for what used to be enough for 2 people and having to take some home - I threw it away out of such disappointment / won’t be back - do not recommend with such bad service, quality - on top of raised prices - wow / how long will they last?
We still gave a 20% tip, because this was not the fault of the waitress, she was stretched way too thin - and that is bad management.
not meaning to rant, but have to point out - that giacobloli that they carefully prepared for an hour and 25 min, was under-cooked and did not have the ingredient’s I ordered (it quite possibly was someone else’s order it was so far off). I have been a fan of this establishment, proven by hundreds of visits – no more. Just sorry to see a staple...
Read moreUsually the food is good and the price is great but today was horrible. Placed an order. Called in a few minutes later to add on. After waiting for delivery they didn't bring the add on item. Called immediately and they said they couldn't get a hold of the driver but would send it out again. Once we actually opened the subs not one of them had the correct toppings. None were marked to even let us know which was which. And one of the cheesesteaks of the three we ordered had a laughable amount of meat on it. Maybe about a third of the meat the other two had. And like I said was missing toppings. Eventually got the add on item delivered and it did not have bacon that we had paid to be on it. I just gave up at that point. We will not be ordering here again and as a business that orders daily from local restaurants we will gladly pay the extra that their competitors charge and actually get what we ordered...
