First I’d want to say, that during my time at Megs I’ve loved the salon and the services it provided, and all of the staff I’ve encountered have been friendly. My issues have been around cancelling my membership. I signed up on a monthly basis, starting in June 2022. I came into the salon in December 2022 to cancel, and was told to come back when I’m outside of the 10 day period allowed for cancelling. Came back Jan 20 to cancel membership for February, but the paperwork required was not able to be processed because they did not have printed copies of the paperwork, and the girl working didn’t know how to proceed. she took my number and said one of the owners would give me a call. 2 weeks go by and no one contacted me, so I reached out again first week of February after noticing I was charged for another month. Again, was told that someone from ownership would call me, but no one did after 4 days had gone by. Went into the salon today to physically to address these issues. The girl at the front was new but very helpful and empathetic, gave me a cancellation paper to fill out which I did, and said an owner would call me. Later this evening, Someone with a name that was not one of the two owners I had been told would call, called me and said “sorry no one got back to you, you won’t be charged next month. The reason you were charged for February was because you didn’t come in within 15 days of your next billing day”. I have many issues with this. First, I signed a document that stated a 10 day cancellation period, I mentioned this to the girl and she responded “oh ok” and went silent, offering no solution to what is clearly a lack of communication between staff and customer. Second, I believe a refund of sorts should have been offered, considering that I tried to do my part, multiple times, to cancel my membership in a timely manner, and the women I talked to was so radio silent, and offered nothing other than “ok we’ll look into it” it’s just disheartening to feel like I won’t return to somewhere I once enjoyed because this process has been so difficult and no empathy has been shown towards me when it’s been poor communication and wrong information from staff...
Read moreThe staff are always friendly however I had a random charge to my account on March 4. March 2 my monthly fee was withdrawn. March 4th I had a random fee that did not equal my monthly withdrawal and I was not in the shop that day. I contacted them immediately and they had no idea of this charge and told me to wait until it cleared and was not pending. I contacted them the next day when the charge had cleared and was told for some reason my card was declined and so I was charged again with a late fee but they would refund me. I waited 2 wks and contacted them back because I did not receive my refund. I was asked if I could come in on Monday and bring my card I had on file, I came in with said card and the lady at the desk was confused. I explained the process and she was like oh ok I see a note on your account. Swiped my card TWICE, and told me give it 3-5 business day’s but typically it wouldn’t take that long. It has been 5 business days and I still do not have that refund. I asked to cancel my package when the salon yesterday and with a click the owner said it was done. No paperwork in hand to prove this had been done. I understand I will still be charged for April because I canceled so late in the month. I hope this is the case and I don’t keep getting random charges from them. Do not trust them with your bank information, period. Read moreI started tanning at Paradise Tan When I was signing up 1 employee was talking to another about a customer. It did not matter to her at all that I was standing right there. She was even pausing when taking my information to continue talking about this person. Then she just told me a room number. I was like.. I'm new here can you show me where that is, she was annoyed by this. She pointed to the room and walked back still yakking about that customer. I figured everything else out myself. She did not discuss anything with me, not even how long I should tan just starting out. Hmm, that's pretty dam important dont ya think.. 2 weeks later, half way through my month long membership another girl told me about the other services my membership included. Wow. I was at the point I didn't even like going because it just felt blah in there. Then I started feeling concerned about how well the beds were being cleaned. Gross and even worse because of Covid. DONE. NEVER going back not even to finish my fully paid for membership. I checked out Megs even though its much farther from me. As soon as I walked in the place reeked of cleanliness and friendliness. Meg was so inviting and showed me everything and even asked what I was after so she could offer the service that best suited what I wanted. The place was up to date. There was people steadily going in and out. Completely different vibe....
