I am not a fan of the Honey Jam restaurants, although that was based on experiences pre-CoVid. Reluctantly, we went on Saturday morning about 9 AM. Parking lot was about 90% full and I was ready to leave before we walked in. We were immediately seated, provided with menus and our beverage order taken. Polite, professional server. Marcy ordered the chicken salad sandwich (she is not a breakfast fan). I ordered a traditional benedict. A mug of well-brewed, flavorful coffee with a mini urn for refills appeared quickly and the too-many adjectives orange juice Marcy ordered were brought by a different beverage server. Our food order was brought by a food runner minutes later. Both were delicious. Marcy has been disappointed recently by chicken salad sandwiches as many restaurants have cheapened up the ingredients. This was a perfect balance of sweet and savory. The Benedict was perfectly made, served hot with fresh Hollandaise. The hash browns were crisp but not dry. Never did get a glass of water or requested hot sauce but that was immaterial as the food was that good. Tables were instantly picked up and clean. A lot of wait staff and a bit pricey, but you get what you pay for and we got a lot more in terms of service, quality and cleanliness. We will be back in three weeks;...
Read moreHoney Jam Cafe quickly became our go-to breakfast spot after moving to Downers Grove. Its close proximity to our place makes it incredibly convenient, although it can get quite crowded on weekdays. We've been here twice now, and the service has been consistently excellent on both occasions. Our recent visit only reaffirmed our positive experiences. One thing that always stands out is the freshness of the coffee, which adds to the overall enjoyment of the meal. On this particular visit, we decided to try the BANANA NUT BREAD STREUSEL FRENCH TOAST and Jay's Iron Man Omelette, with an upgrade to Tres Leches French Toast. The combination was a delight to the taste buds – delicious and satisfying. What impressed us was not just the quality of the food but also the speed of service, making our breakfast experience even more enjoyable. In summary, Honey Jam Cafe has become our breakfast haven in Downers Grove. With consistently excellent service, fresh coffee, and a delicious menu, it's the perfect place to start your day. We look forward to many more visits to explore the diverse offerings...
Read moreMy husband and I stopped in for Fathers Day. I ordered soup and half sandwich..the grilled cheese. My soup arrived 20 minutes prior to any food. No water refills. My husband ordered eggs with ham. The ham was so vile, I had to spit it out. He also had eggshells in his eggs. 2 strikes. My grilled cheese was 95 % bread...2 skinny slices of cheese with bacon and tomato. The menu did not list bacon and tomato. They should have indicated this. What I received was not grilled cheese..it was toast. Plus, I was to get a side salad but fries were delivered. We don't like to make a scene, but my sandwich was appaling, the fries were half cooked, the ham was disgusting and there is no excuse for eggshells in a restaurant meal. We did let our server know and he said he would tell the manager. We were not looking to get free food or money off our bill. It would have been nice if the manager acknowledged our complaints. 40$ meal that was not eaten...I left 98% of mine...
