Due to location they are conveniently located. I gave them several times to prepare good food. On a consistent basis they have WAYYY over cooked all of there sweet and sour entrees. Also, the lobster sauce, I tried twice, seriously almost made me sick. Filled with salt and a cheaply made base. Yesterday was the last time I will ever do business with them. Again, I got a sweet and sour chicken and asked them NOT to over cook it. Got home, had one piece and it was as dry as a bone, over cooked...disgusting. purchased shrimp and lobster sauce for another family member....two bites and they almost got sick. The egg drop soup was good but, essentially 23 dollars was thrown into the garbage! Complete waste! This time I called to complain and asked for a refund for at least the chicken....nope! Told me to bring it in so she can say what's wrong with it. She didn't care to absorb my complaint she arrogantly claimed that there was nothing wrong with it... insinuated that I don't know good food. It IS THE WORST of basic Chinese food. Other places I've gone to are fantastic! Moist yet crispy chicken...REAL homemade lobster and sweet and sour sauces.... they are not conveniently located is all. These people are friendly at first but, don't bother complaining to them. They truly don't have good food.. twice now I've completely lost my appetite after one bite...mind you, I'm NOT a picky eater. Oh, by the way....they do skimp on things and do nickle and dime you. Sweet sour sauce has -hardly- any peppers, pineapple, etc. Ask for extra packets...you won't get it. She'll say "it's in bag...yeah, yeah...its in there" nope.. she won't give out extra simple packets of it. Cheep, reconstituted, maybe even day or two old deep they...

Walking into the establishment you will be greeted by an employee guarded by a saran-wrap forcefield covering the register counter. I'm all for PPE, but my goodness. I was thinking, "Am I ordering take-out, or walking into a seedy medical establishment?"
Fortunately the food was good. I had the General's Tofu & Pineapple fried rice. The food seemed fresh, & the portion sizes were good. But it's a little pricey for take-out, at nearly $15 a dish. (And pass on the pan-fried noodles).
When I had asked to substitute the meat egg rolls for veg egg rolls, I was denied & told it was late in the night (It was over an hour before the posted closing time). To my surprise, even the provided fortune cookie read , "No Egg-Rolls For You". Despite my belly being full, I cried...
Read moreWe have finally found a great Chinese take out restaurant, and it's called ZJ China! About 9 years ago, one of the best Chinese take out places in Downers Grove changed owners, and it was never the same as the old guy that ran it. We tried many Chinese places, but none of them ever quite satisfied us. We tried ZJ China on 4-6-24, and I'm happy to report that we found everything delicious and tasty. ZJ's has barbecued pork fried rice, and many places don't have barbecued pork--the barbecue gives it a little zing which we like. We also ordered General Tso's chicken and schezwan beef, plus pan fried noodles and everything was great. We also had an order of egg rolls, and they came 2 big ones to an order...some of the places we have tried gave us dinky ones. So my Wife and I are happy to have finally found a great Chinese place and to the owners I say, keep up the good work as we will be back. And to all of you looking for Chinese food, I say, give ZJ China a try...I'm sure you will not be...
