Los Sombreros Restaurant — Restaurant in Downey

My lady and i was craving some authentic mexican food. I scoured online to see what was out there and came across Los Sombreros Restaurant.

I had not ever eaten here before. I was solely inspired to try out this restaurant via it's photos of the food it cooked.

The photos got my mouth watering. So, i said let's try it out. I called in advanced to see if they had "dine in". Unfortunately, they didn't due to Covid-19.

We arrive there, my lady chose the Mojarra Frita plate and i chose the Chicken Fajita plate.

The food was absolutely delicious! 😋😋😋

My lady gave me a taste of her Mojarra Frita and wow it was off tha chain delicious!! I will be ordering that dish on my next visit.

As for my chicken fajita plate, let's just say... that plate was wiped clean. 😁

Customer service was excellent. The lady that took our order - i can't remember her name, but she was super pleasant.

Their menu priced items are very reasonable considering the amount of food you get.

I highly recommend this restaurant for anyone who craves authentic...

The food was bad. I ordered a shrimp tostada, and it had old cilantro that was black. I ordered guacamole, and it was from a bag, not fresh. The chicken tacos shell was like a store bought shell, not a real tortilla. My husband ordered a lemonade, and it was awful, so we asked to change it to a bottle of lemonade. It took so long to get the oder and to bring our food. Our billed included the Lemonade my husband disliked. When I told the waitress why it was on there, she replied,"You drank some of it." Duh, how else would he have known it was awful. The owner took it off. I will never go there again. They should not have put a salad on your plate since it was like literally three pieces of lettuce and a teaspoon...

Came over with my husband, he ordered Menudo and I ordered the Steak and Eggs. His Menudo came first and it was cold and watery. We both had ordered coffee and we didn't get asked once if we needed a refill. Once we asked to get more coffee, they served us the most watery coffee I've had. As if they tried to save and put the left over coffee to run through water again. My steak was alright but the rice was from a day before all hard and dry. Overall, the service was poor and the food even worst. Would've been better off going to Denny's for the 33...
