Narai Thai Cuisine — Restaurant in Downey

The food itself is five stars; the service however leaves so much to be desired. First issues came about when the server asked whether we wanted our soup to be 'lemongrass' or coconut milk--as far as we were aware, the broth would contain lemongrass with or without the addition of coconut milk. This made ordering confusing. The same server forgot to add one of the dishes to the meal, and came back later saying she didn't put it in, after we had received our previous dishes. But the real kicker was how the server kept neglecting our table, whenever I needed a water refill, I had to ask some other available server. Our server kept going to the other half of the restaurant where I witnessed her and other servers doing their hair! It would have been hilarious if it didn't mess up our dining experience. I don't even know if she washed her hands after touching her co-worker's hair. At the end of the meal, the server brought out a scoop of ice cream 'on the house'. In my opinion, it didn't make up for the poor quality service from this young lady. We've been coming to this restaurant for YEARS, this is the first time we received such terrible service. Will think twice before coming...

Found Hair in my food. Forced me to drive back for a refund after already paying for it to be delivered to my house. They didn't want to give me a refund for the food at first unless I drove the food back to them. So I drove to them and asked for a refund for my one item that had hair in it and for my delivery since they made me drive all the way to them for a refund. They refused to refund me my delivery acting clueless, saying its on post mates and not on them. The bag I received was stapled shut. And postmates was not the company forcing me to drive back to the restaurant for a refund. It was Narai Thai. So yes, they are responsible for the delivery fee. I could have asked for the whole order to be refunded but wanted to be lenient about it. Instead, this is how they treat customers. I cannot believe I had to drive it in when they asked for a picture and we sent it to them. They made it seem as if we were going to eat it still or something. I told them, my food came to me with hair in it. It was going right into the trash. They made me go out of my way for no reason. Used to love going here, but never again. And I will let everyone I know this place does not take care of...

I’ve been searching for great Thai food for a long time!!! And I decided to finally give into this place. Glad I did! Ordered the 7 seafood soup with light lemon grass/ no spicy. (Preference) and dang! It was amazing. The soup is light and not heavy, my wife doesn’t eat soup so I ate the whole thing!! Woke up the next morning wanting to go back 😋😂. The chowmein noodles are thick and delicious. The beef has a certain delicious flavor to it. Preferably next time I’d try shrimp chowmein. The veggie rolls were stuffed to the brim, very crunchy and when combined with their sweet and sour it’s also very tasty. I cannot wait till we go back, literally counting the days.

Waiters are nice and friendly. Always attentive. The crowd that comes here is more trendy and hipster or professional. Don’t let the outside fool you it looks...
