Stewart & Grub — Restaurant in Downey

Food was delicious! The handmade drinks were really good (should have requested light ice). The menu had good options to choose from, though it was difficult to tell what was included on each because there wasn't much detail.

The staff was friendly, but they seemed like they were in a hurry. My friend and I ordered separately, but the gave us our food at the same time without telling us which was which. I asked but it got confusing when they pushed out the drinks and I asked the same question. We ended up eating each other's burgers. It may have been more helpful if they handed us her food and drink then handed me mine.

It was a Thursday night and there was very little parking in the area, but we arrived when a guy in a small back ally was leaving.

We also weren't expecting outdoor seating, so we had to go back to the car after ordering so my friend could grab a jacket.

I give it 4 stars because of how good the food was when we switched our burgers back. Once you know what to expect from this place, it's a good...

I've been here several times and have almost always had a pleasant experience.

One evening I got here at 15 til close, light still shining "Open" but when i got to the window, I was told they had already started cleaning and were "closed".

I explained I have worked in both retail management and the food industry as both a line cook and chef. That closing and clean up doesn't occur until closing time or the last customer's order is cooked.

I was told "not my problem" by an employee.

The food here IS good and generally customer service is above average. But after this experience, I dont know if I'll be back. I have shared my experience with family member who used to go as well, and they are supporting to not go any longer as well.

Wish management would contact me and make it right. I left a contact number that night, but have yet to receive a call.

I can't believe it at all not one of the workers had the audacity to tell me that they were closing and let me stand there the entire time by the window thinking that I was going to place and order and just put the close sign on me instead of letting me know they just let me stand there and then put up the sign like if I'm not a human being who you can just inform it is too late to place an order instead they had me standing there like I didn't exist very rude and I hope that never happens to you guys at a restaurant because it's very unprofessional and rude. God bless you guys I wish nothing but greatness for you guys but I have to let you know that was very rude. NOT TO MENTION I WAS IN LINE BEFORE CLOSING!
