My Travels, My StoriesMy Travels, My Stories
Upon arriving in Orlando, the first thing we did was head out for a late breakfast and coffee. We chose CFS Coffee Dr. Phillips since it was relatively close to our hotel. The café turned out to be located in a shopping center, which was somewhat disappointing as I had imagined it to be a cozy spot in a cool neighborhood. Unfortunately, as we later discovered, such places are hard to come by in Orlando. Additionally, CFS turned out to be another chain. However, I must admit that it was decently decorated, with coffee served in colorful cups and excellent service. Regarding the coffee quality... as usual, I ordered a cappuccino, which turned out to be just coffee with milk and a small amount of foam on top. But, considering cappuccino was served not in a cup but rather in a mug like regular coffee with milk, it wasn't entirely unexpected. For food, I ordered a salad bowl with avocado, egg, tomatoes, corn, and carrots. Honestly, I would have preferred to swap out the corn for some more nutritious veggies, but the salad wasn't bad overall. My husband ordered two eggs with avocado on rice and beans, which he found relatively satisfying. I also ordered an arepa, which unfortunately wasn't quite like the ones they sell in New York; it was just a plain pancake. In short, the food was decent but nothing extraordinary. The service was good, and the waitress was friendly.

I visited this coffee shop four times during my stay in the area, mainly because it was the closest option within walking distance. Each day, I ordered an iced latte with oat milk —trying a different flavor each time: sugar-free vanilla on day one, dulce de leche on day two, the house-made Farmer's brown sugar on day three, and pistachio on day four. I always asked for it half-sweet. The coffee was solid, and the flavors were well-balanced, though I wouldn't say it's the best coffee l've ever had. I'm giving it 3 stars mainly due to inconsistent service. Two of the visits were great-the baristas were friendly and welcoming. On day two, one even recommended his favorite flavor and provided genuinely good customer service. However, the other two experiences weren't as positive. The baristas seemed annoyed that we didn't order food, and one of them made us feel unwelcome when I asked if I could purchase a cup of ice water-even though it hadn't been an issue the day before. Overall, it's a decent spot with a good variety of flavored syrups, but the inconsistent service left a mixed impression.

We were looking for something different, where we could find some healthy, delicious alternatives for breakfast, and stumbled upon this place. We decided to give it a try since it had good reviews and really nice pictures online. Let me tell you, they don't disappoint. Beginning with the atmosphere of the place, the food options are great, from well-presented pastries to fruit bowls and excellent savory options such as Arepas, sandwiches, and snacks. The music is great too, featuring a nice selection of Latin American rhythms from different countries. The service is also noteworthy. The plates and drinks are really well presented, indicating they are doing a wonderful job in the kitchen. Roxana will greet you with a great smile, ready to help you with the menu selection and answer any questions, as well as recommend excellent choices. The servers were also great, friendly, and hospitable. If you live in Orlando or are just visiting, please do yourself a favor and come to this place. Support a local business and take home some nice memories from this hidden gem.

I was meeting up here with some family members since from one of my family members raved how good the place & atmosphere was. I was waiting in line to be helped to place an order & three of the workers there did not acknowledge me at all. Until one guy said I’ll be right with you & continued to do some other task. I waited 10 minutes & finally the guy came over to the register to take my order. When I was putting in my order he got interrupted by a customer who wanted water & he stopped taking my order & continued to help the customer. Honestly I was already frustrated with the wait time & then completely stopped taking my order to work with someone else. No customer service at all. He came back to complete my order. He did mention “thank you for your patience” since I was already annoyed & my face did say it. I order an iced matcha & husband a dulce de leche frape, croissant & a chicken empanada. We waited 30 minutes for our drinks & then an additional 10 minutes for our pastries. When our drinks came out my husband received a Hot drink not a Frape which is blended. I walked up to the counter & asked the guy if the hot drink was a frape. Instead of apologizing. him & his worker laughed & took the drink & remade it. At this point there is no customer service at all & very unprofessional employees. We got our drinks from a young lady who apologized to us. We ended up leaving once we got our pastries. To say the least we will not come back to this establishment at all....

This is my second review about anything I’ve experienced with the other being Amazon. Out of fairness, I would say this visit had potential to be pleasant but was unfortunately not. We waited at the counter about five minutes before being able to order, staring at mounds of dirty dishes behind the counter. The guy at the register was torn between cleaning a blender, making coffees, and ringing up orders. We ordered two meals and two coffees, totaling about $50, with gratuity paid ahead. When asked where we would sit and gently reminding we would be dining in, we were told there’s seats outside. There wasn’t so we ended up sitting at the business next door.

15 minutes later our coffees came out and were initially delivered to the wrong table, who we would come to find out were subject to the same service as us. 45 minutes into waiting I went inside to request our food in to-go boxes. We already wasted too much time sitting around for our food. The same guy at the counter didn’t know what happened with our order and, upon checking, told me that they would make it now and box it up. I’m confident that we’d of been sitting there another hour if I didn’t go up and ask. Both meals were not well done and we didn’t even eat them. Wasted an hour and $50 on two coffees.

We weren’t the only ones that appeared to be forgotten or stuck waiting for a significant amount of time. Unfortunate waste of...

Waiting about an hour and paid $20 for two coffees that were poorly made

Response from owner:

“Thank you for your feedback. Our coffee is specialty-grade, carefully sourced and crafted to deliver a unique flavor and quality. We understand there are more affordable options, but we believe each cup is worth the care and dedication we put into it.”

While the price is not the issue, it was frustrating waiting an hour for a coffee that was poorly made. I understand that I came in a time when there was a rush. I am frustrated to receive a coffee that was poured from a plastic pitcher that sits on the counter. I order two iced vanilla honey lattes. I received two coffees that looked and tasted like two different coffees. I expected a freshly brewed coffee, not a premade coffee that sits on the counter. The honey was sitting on the bottom and the coffees were warm. I asked the barista about how my coffee was made and was told “yeah there’s espresso in it”. A latte is usually made with freshly brewed espresso and since I added honey to my drink, the espresso should be brewed with the honey in order for the honey to be incorporated into the drink. I watched the barista make the coffees and observed her make the coffees in a rush with different amounts of coffee and milk. My first time experience was great and this was my second time around and I am very disappointed in the...
