We came in about 20 minutes before closing and were pleasantly surprised by the cashier at the front—he greeted us warmly and took our order with a great attitude, which we really appreciated. We ordered to-go, and the menu was still fully available, which was a plus.
As soon as we walked in, though, the restaurant had a strong smell of frying oil. It was a bit overwhelming, and I think they could really improve their ventilation system. The space inside is mid-sized and family-friendly, and they also have patio seating, which is very convenient.
We ordered the Mazorcada, an order of empanadas, plantain baskets filled with chicharrón, and the chicharrón ceviche. Out of everything, I would only recommend the empanadas and the plantain baskets—they were flavorful and well-made. The ceviche had good flavor, but the chicharrón was soggy, which took away from the experience. The Mazorcada was just too much—too many ingredients in one dish made it hard to enjoy any individual flavor. I know it’s a traditional Colombian dish, but maybe adjusting the portions could help the flavors come through better.
Overall, it wasn’t terrible, but it also wasn’t memorable. I don’t see myself craving it or...
Read morePork N Roll serves Colombian-inspired dishes with an emphasis on pork belly. With a modern vibe and unique offerings, it's perfect for those looking for something new and different.
I enjoyed the teriyaki and BBQ pork belly, as well as the Porko burger. The fries are fantastic. The flavors in general are great, but it's an odd experience because the pork belly is fatty, but not greasy. It's like eating clean but fatty food, and it's an experience you have to try in order to understand. Be warned though, once the pork belly gets cold, it's unappetizing, so prioritize eating over conversing to maximize satisfaction.
The service was fantastic from start to finish. I appreciated the host's recommendations and intro to the restaurant. The owners have done a great job creating a cool atmosphere. The big con for me is the price point of the food; it's too pricey for the experience. A note for management: the menu on the virtual screens transitions too quickly. I'd recommend slowing the transitions down a bit to feature the food better. Overall, Pork N Roll has unique offerings that will bring me back as a...
Read moreWhere to start? So a few weeks ago I had stumbled upon the food truck noticing it was close to my work and I was getting tired of the same old song and dance associated with fast food. Let me tell you, this place is an absolute game changer. My first visit I had the Empanadas for the first time and I've never had them and was blown away by the crispy crunchy outer layer of the empanadas, I went with beef as my choice of meat and it was tender, juicy and flavorful. This put them on the map for me. Today I decided to try the Chicharonn bowl that came with pork belly, potatoes, cheese, a garlic sauce drizzle and a side of guacamole and this blew my mind. The meat was decadently savory and juicy with a crispy crust to accompany each bite, the potatoes were soft and fell apart in my mouth. All that combined with all the flavors made for a deliciously dangerous time. The food is fresh and the staff are super nice and you get the sense the food is made with love. I would highly recommend this spot, incredible food and atmosphere as far as...
