UPDATE: We have returned to The Great Greek Mediterranean Grill several times since our original visit, it’s one of our very favorite go to spots, the best Greek food in town, always fresh and great service! We tried The Great Greek Mediterranean Grill on Monday, It was a really great lunch. I ordered a four Greek dip appetizer platter. It was really good. It had Taziki, Hummus, Melitzanosalata and Tirokafteri dips served with warm, soft pita bread. All the dips were absolutely delicious. The hummus was my favorite, it was as good as my homemade hummus, which is saying something. My husband ordered the steak Souvlaki platter. It came with two skewers of tenderloin steak cooked perfectly, a Greek salad and he opted for lemon potatoes as his side dish. Normally it would come with rice pilaf, fries, or feta fries. We wanted to try the lemon potatoes and they were absolutely delicious, soft potato wedges, with really good lemon, buttery sauce on them. (Since this original post, we have tried the fries and the rice pilaf, they were delicious too🥰) I ate his Greek salad, which went along with my dips and pita wonderfully. We ordered baklava ice cream for dessert. It was really a surprise. It was so good, vanilla ice cream with baklava pieces mixed in, shaved almonds on top and drizzled with honey. We will definitely will be trying this restaurant again. We’re excited to try other menu items, I gave them a four star atmosphere just due to a couple small things. The chairs are metal and a very low height, they’re not comfortable. The salt and pepper shakers were not serviceable, very hard to get any salt or pepper out of them. and there’s not a napkin dispenser on the table. This is a newer restaurant and they are doing a great job...
Read moreI like the food here. Been here a few times and the food has always been good. However this last experience left me a bit disappointed. I came in to order two entrees. For entrees the menu said you can pick any side. I choose Feta Fries for both entrees. I noticed that the cashier charged an additional $2. I inquired about the extra charge, and the cashier said it was for the Feta Fries, and that it is “only a dollar.” This was a bit annoying, because the menu didn’t mention anything about an extra charge for the Feta Fries, it simply says to choice of any side.
I presented a 50% BOGO coupon, which I did show the cashier prior to ordering. The cashier said that she didn’t know how to apply the couple, but that she would tell her manager tomorrow and that the manager would credit back the charge for the savings. She said that she couldn’t do anything else to accommodate the transaction and that I need to pay full price today. At this point, I no longer trusted the service and process, and had no confidence that a credit would be applied the next day. I simply said to not worry about the order and left. We went to Spitz instead, and glad we did, because the service was pleasant, the food delicious, and we spent about a 1/3 less than what we would have spent at The Great Greek.
Update: 11/21/24. I have since been back and couple times. The food and service have...
Read moreMy wife’s whole family is from Greece, it is not easy to find a Greek place that impresses her. We have been searching for Greek food that she can approve of in the valley for a while now but nothing quite hit the spot. That is, until we tried The Great Greek Mediterranean. We got the tzatziki to start and it was so good and authentic to her taste. We then had gryros with feta fries on the side. From the first bite the feta fries were fantastic with a lemon to garnish they tasted so good. This is by far the best gyro I have had to date. They cooked my lamb medium rare and it was absolutely fantastic. All of that for just about $45 I would say it is a great deal for what you are getting and how much you are getting. To finish it off we got the desert sampler and while I wish the portions were bigger on it all three deserts were fantastic. A well deserved...
