Fantastic little location. Spanky’s is a breakfast and lunch spot in an old hotel on a country road ( somewhat near corner of route 191 and route 447) but actually is on 960 Main Street [aka: RR 191]. Walls are adorned with license plates, and there are huge comfy vintage wooden booths to chill in. Service is friendly.

Very small town vibe but not limited to small town attitude. The staff here are so courteous and professional you feel not just like a patron but a part of their small town. Our help was excited to see us and helped us get the best meal like when I asked if I could minus out the potatoes and sub in corned beef hash. They allowed it and explained the cost savings/extra. Which is not available at most restaurants. They had breakfast meats from pork to beef and even turkey. Which is awesome, so you can take multiple friends and family who have a variety of tastes here.

Parking was fairly simple. Just follow the ONE WAY signs around back. The main entrance is in the front. There is plenty of seating and they do have plastic COVID separations for the booths for those who want to know. They keep it clean, I didn't have a sticky table. It's a shame I have to mention that as a bonus. Lol should be standard right? But I have found sticky tables elsewhere.

We plan on coming back and visiting with additional friends who came up to this area with us. Definitely give this place a shot, you should have a great meal in a unique ambiance experience. Wish I could have time to read all the different plates on the walls and find the most unusual one. Kudos to the establishment here for such a cool...

My husband and I were looking for a breakfast place on our way out of town and we saw Spankys and passed it but a few blocks up the road I said turn around. I am glad we did. 1st walking in the door you see hundreds of licenses plates of every state and we later found out from the owner that the plates on one side of the room are in order from which each state became states which I though was absolutely fantastic. The restaurant is very welcoming as are the staff. Some times as an out of towner in a small town you get the feeling of being judged (or at least I do) but the people were very friendly and again welcoming. The owner was super friendly and talked to us about the restaurant and the work that her mother and herself put into making it the restaurant into what it is today. Now the food. My Husband ordered the cream chip beef platter which was an entire big plate that he absolutely enjoyed. I ordered the Special which was Strawberry stuffed French toast with a cream sauce that was absolutely fantastic and I ate the entireplate, which is very rare for me, it was not overly sweet and the strawberries were fresh, as we were waiting for our food we noticed on the menu their famous Cinnamon bun, my husband ordered it and it came to the table nice and warm with the icing melting just how I like it. It was probably the 2nd best cinnamon bun I every had. I would definitely stop in again if ever in the area and I suggest everyone to...

Me and some friends went for breakfast the waitress spills a soda all over my friend’s shirt and purse, waitress gives her napkins to dry off and she cleans up the spill with a wet rag and leaves not be seen again. We explained to the new waitress what had happened and the response was “well, those things happen “.

We asked to move to another table as the soda spill on the floor is now becoming a sticky spill on the floor , my friend ask the “new” waitress can she get another soda for the one that spilled all over her, she says “that’s not my table”.

We asked to be moved to another table and we noticed, there was no prices on the menu! So we had to ask about this and were told prices changes from week to week that why they aren’t there.

Sorry. I never heard of such a thing. So we asked to see the price menu, the waitress brings over a LAMINATED menu! So if prices changes week to week, why laminate a menu?!

Finally for a breakfast of four, the bill came to $70. My food was cold and noticed the waitress fingers was touching the toast as she brought it over. My friend’s meal wasn’t comped for the spilled soda all over her.

We walked out after we were done and were like “what just happened...

Spanky’s Breakfast & Lunch – Newfoundland, PA Hands down the best breakfast spot in the area — Spanky’s delivers the kind of country comfort you dream about. The photos don’t even come close to doing this place justice. From the moment you walk in, you’re surrounded by walls covered in license plates from all over the world, giving the place a nostalgic and welcoming vibe that feels like a warm hug. The food? Unreal. A true country breakfast — hearty, fresh, and full of flavor. If you go, don’t leave without trying their French toast… it’s a must-have. Crispy on the outside, fluffy inside, and perfectly sweet. The waitstaff is not only friendly, but also on point — attentive without hovering and always ready with a smile or a coffee refill. Spanky’s is a gem in Newfoundland and absolutely worth the stop. You’ll leave full, happy, and already planning your next visit. Thank you, Spanky’s, for keeping it real and delicious! Parking in the rear!

Local or visitor this diner has a very cozy feeling that starts outside and through to inside. The inside is fun and inviting with license plates along with other fun items throughout. The service is good and friendly. We walked in and was seated quickly. They had bar counter seating and also booths or tables fitting larger groups. Food menu had all the standard breakfast items and more along with lunch. I ordered a bacon omelette and wife a Chicken salad sandwich. Both tasted good but I prefer bacon mixed into egg and not plopped in middle of an egg crape. My wife’s Chicken Salad sandwich was served as a club with three layers of bread which she was not expecting as well tomato and lettuce but may have missed that preparation detail on the menu. Overall, its unique and in a small town that we liked. I would not drive 20 miles again to eat but if local, it would be a definite choice.
