i don't usually review chain restaurants but have to give a shoutout here. we arrived to a packed store and waited exactly as long as the app said the wait would be. we were seated and after a long wait began to wonder if we'd see a server at all. well our server, Annie, was 100% worth the wait! i'm a huge iced tea drinker - i don't drink coffee and tea is my caffeine choice daily. as a result i tend to drink a good bit of it all day. honestly, i get a headache without enough. when we visited i was 6 hrs into my day driving and with only a single glass of tea. i was likely also a bit dehydrated as i usually drive with a tea as well. i let Annie know i was going to require a lot. i asked about getting my tea in the large plastic to-go cups the stores carry. she shared that this store, as a large number of others i have encountered, requires those be 'saved' for takeout only. i told her i understood and apologized that i would likely run her ragged and be looking for her for refills during my meal (honestly, somebody tell Cracker Barrel Corporate that those shot glasses they use for drinks are ridiculous. once they have ice there's about 2 oz. of drink space left!) Annie told me not to worry and that she would take care of me. not gonna lie. as busy as they were, i didn't hold out much hope for that. boy was i WRONG! Annie anticipated my needs and provided an extra glass of just tea along with my first glass of iced. before i'd finished both of those, she anticipated my need for ice and brought that without my having to ask. every step of the way Annie anticipated our needs and met them before we even had the chance to think we had a need! when our food seemed to take a bit to be prepared, we could see Annie in the kitchen hovering over the cook to ensure it was getting handled. as a result, this was the hottest, freshest meal i've ever had at a Cracker Barrel (and we have eaten many many in our travels across the U.S.). Annie was an absolute delight. i watched as we ate and she was attentive and pleasant with all her tables, always ensuring needs were met before patrons had to ask!
Now, just to be clear, we also interacted with 5 other employees while visiting this store and every one of them was smiling and pleasant. My lunch break from driving is usually 30-45 mins. For this visit we were double that. But it was totally what i needed and didnt even know. Thanks for a...
Read moreMy mother and I (both African American women, late 40s and 20s) visited this location on Saturday, March 26, 2022 around 4:30pm while traveling. The food and service from our waitress was amazing!! However, our experience was ruined solely by the cashier Laura (Caucasian, blond hair in a high pony-tail, aged late teens-mid 20’s). For someone to work in a hospitality, customer-service environment, the cashier Laura did NOT meet ANY decent customer service expectations, and we strongly felt that her actions were solely based upon our race. While we waited in line, Laura happily greeted the two Caucasian customers in line before us. However, once it was my mothers turn to pay for our meal, we did not receive a greeting or even a simple acknowledgment. My mother took the initiative to greet Laura first, and paid with an $100 bill. I have 7 years experience working in restaurants, INCLUDING serving at Cracker Barrel, so I understand that it is crucial for a cashier to verify that the money received is legitimate. However, I believe the extreme unnecessary actions that Laura did next were solely based on our race. After the routine steps were done-checking the front and back of the bill, then using the marker to ensure the money is not fraudulent—Laura seemed shocked and even angry that the $100 bill was indeed a valid bill. Laura glared and “side-eyed” my mother up and down as if she was trying to intimidate her. She then repeated the security steps an additional 4-5 times before finally accepting the payment.. Then, when giving my mother her change, Laura proceeded to THROW the bills and coins across the counter to my mother and simply walk away. This action is fully against Cracker Barrel’s policy, and does NOT embody their “southern hospitality,.” Cashiers are required to count the change out to customers, greet them and wish them some sort of goodbye. This experience really saddened us because we have never been treated with such blatant hatred...
Read moreTattah, the waitress in Dublin, Georgia was in need of specialized training.for telling the entre I order, was not available. I waited 1 hour to be seated and one hour for her to tell me they were sold out. My party all received their order but we waited an hour for her to deliver the meals. She was very uninterested in our food being delivered in a timely manner. She was unconcerned and had a lack of regard for our patronage. The surrounding guests were taken very good care of by the store associates and I regret not being seated in their sections. Her disposition was "Cracker Barrell always runs out of food" and telling me in a tinely manner so I could select an available item was asking to much of her responsibilitiy. The entire back room could be filled with the over flow for the waiters to pick up the waiting customers. The food is EXCELLENT PRODUCT. I HIGHLY RECOMMEND AND APPRECIATE THE QUALITY OF THE FOOD, HOWEVER, LAZINESS REQUIRES IMPROVEMENT IN DUBLIN, GEORGIA, FOR THIS PARTICULAR WAITRESS. The manager was very apologetic and friendly. I will give this store 5 Stars 🌟. The waitress has a very negative attitude and I DO NOT RECOMMEND. The ordeal could have been avouded if she waould have informed me the foid was sold out abd I could have eaten with my party. I did purchase $158.00 of excellent quality product in the gift shop and I was pleasantly delighted with the Gift Shop Staff. The hostess was friendly and sat us as soon as guests finished and...
