I don't think I ever once even considered the possibility that toast could be a featured item in a meal. So when my wife suggested we go to a "toast restaurant" I admit that I was skeptical. I'm very open-minded, and I didn't think it would necessarily be bad, I just questioned whether or not toast could be the main event. After attending twice now, I have to say that this was a really fun and unexpected treat.
First, they have a deep and very creative menu. So many different types of toppings that it is really hard to choose. Thankfully, they very smartly offer a "flight" of different toast options allowing you to really sample around without having to get full orders. They also have monthly specials that are phenomenal and seasonal.
The quality of the ingredients is really what makes it. The sourdough bread there is the best I've had since California, which is known for great sourdough. Everything else they put on the toast from the butter, to the vegetables, hummus, fruit, everything is farm fresh and absolutely delicious.
In addition, they have a great selection of coffees and tea that are equally delicious. There really is something for everyone on the menu.
The story itself is beautiful, and the staff is fantastic. There really is no downside which made the 45 minute drive to get there absolutely worth it, and made us want to go the next week for my birthday lunch.
I highly recommend anyone who is in striking distance of Dublin Pennsylvania to try this place out. It may feel a little bit on the expensive side, but as always, you get what you pay for and this place...
Read moreI visited Farm to Toast for the first time today and will not be going back nor do I recommend it. It took almost 15 minutes to get a plain cold brew to go, with no line, and with at least 5 people behind the counter. When I asked what was taking so long, the girl who took my order was very nice about it and it looked like she just forgot about it. Fine, no issues, she went to get it so I could leave. But then a second woman (I think the owner) stepped in and gave me an attitude. She said they probably lost the ticket. You lost the ticket and are giving the customer attitude about it? OK. She was saying "nice words" (such as offering a refund, which i declined) but was talking to me in a dismissive, sarcastic tone. If this is how she treats a customer having a poor experience in her establishment, I suggest she has someone else deal with customers because she completely escalated the situation when the first girl was already getting my drink and I was fine that she apologized for the wait.
Fortunately, I had taken a photo upon entering so I knew what time I had gotten there and when I had gotten back to my car - just to make sure I wasn't being unreasonable to get annoyed at the amount of time it took for them to pour an iced coffee into a cup (14 mins). Between the owner's handling of the situation and the long wait time for a simple item, losing of a ticket, or merely just forgetting my order even though I was standing there for 10+ minutes is reason...
Read moreBEST. PLACE. EVER!!! Farm to toast is the only local cafe that truly cares about the quality of ingredients and customer experience. The owners put so much thought and detail into what they are serving customers, it is rare to find that in today’s food industry. The staff is warm and welcoming and go above and beyond for myself and 1 year old daughter each time we visit. The coffee and espresso options are top notch, and the syrups are all made from scratch. The toasts are hand crafted and never ever disappoint, especially the green egg made w the freshest sour dough, cream cheese, avocado and everything bagel seasoning. The smoothies and bowls are always fresh and made to order w delicious fruits..I recommend the moki bowl every time. We love this place and are so grateful for Stacy and her crew for bringing such a wonderful establishment to our community. We are LIFERS and will always support this wonderful small business and recommend...
