Taormina's Pizza & Pasta — Restaurant in Dublin

Me and my brother entered the restaurant to get a quick slice, my brother asked the woman at the counter for one plain slice, the woman asked if he wanted anything to drink, but he was holding a water bottle in his hand, he said no and the lady asked him what the water in his hand was then. He showed her the water which was from giant and she said is that all in disgust, he told her he wanted to eat his slice there. I then stepped up and ordered separately ordering 2 slices to go, and there was no problem. We sat down and a few minutes later she said our pizza was done and we got up to get it. We both sat down and my brother started to eat his slice, the woman then said, "I thought that was to go?" In a snobby voice. I then told her that I only asked for mine to go and he wanted to eat there. Also what would be the problem if we had changed our minds? After he was done I grabbed my back and we started to leave, as I was about to walk out I heard the lady talking to someone else say; " he had a skateboard, he was wearing tye die, and he had a bandana on" To a customer!, I could not believe that a worker at a restuarant would criticize someone on their appearance when I was still in the store. This is unacceptable behavior and i would expect more from this pizza place because i have ordered from here a lot and i enjoy there pizza, so i would not recommend going here if you dont want people criticizing you on...

My boyfriend and I have gotten delivery before on weekends & the service is always very quick & the pizza is good. I guess they were having an off night, maybe someone called out or they were unexpectedly busy, and our delivery took quite awhile. We called to check the delivery status and were told it was on its way. We were not upset in any way, more curious. Got our delivery a bit later (Margarita pizza, which was great in my opinion). I got a voicemail about an hour later. It was the manager calling to apologise about our delivery and offering a credit for my next order. It’s customer service like this that keeps me coming back to places. I likely won’t even use the credit, it’s just really nice that they cared enough to reach out at all. People expect things to always be 100% perfect these days and get too bent out of shape when they aren’t. I come from the restaurant industry and completely understand that things happen out of the manager’s control, but I think they handled what wasn’t even a problem very well. Taormina’s has been one of our favorite takeout since we moved to the area a year and a half ago. It was recently sold and has new ownership. We have ordered some of the same items, and they have some new items on the menu. Pizzas are still really good! I ordered a salad that I’ve had a number of times in the past. The chicken and shrimp in the Mediterranean salad was coated with some type of mesquite rub. It was obviously different than the salad from the previous owner. It was very generous but a little bit salty for my taste. If they are going to serve the same menu items, it should be similar or maybe they should update the description of the item.
