Charlotte's is a lovely place! The food is wonderful, the coffee is hot and the overall, physical, feel of the rooms are cozy and inviting. Upon these merits alone, (and that I am a local and know the story of Charlotte's and fully appreciate and applaud it's rebirth from a fire) I would be more than happy to write a 5 star review, but the one factor that leaves Charlotte's short of the mark, and it pains me to say this, is it's customer service. With my new work schedule, I've been to Charlotte's every morning this week, early, and for the most part I've been greeted with general politeness. No complaints there. However, this morning, as they opened for business, I was their first customer, even brought in their paper for them. I was not even greeted. They knew I was there, they just ignored me. Completely ignored. Not acknowledged by either of the 2 young ladies, not a smile or a "we'll be right with you", just me, awkwardly standing there at the register watching them for a few moments until I had to ask if there was hot coffee. I was told, and not politely, that there was but would have to wait a while until they were ready for anything else. I was made to feel like an inconvenience by the blonde who stomped around with her keys, and only received pleasantries from the brunette when I expressed my own irritation with the situation. I went there for breakfast, like I had done all week, (the food really is great), but couldn't wait to get out of there with just my coffee. Needless to say, I won't be back, which is incredibly disappointing since I thought I had found my new, daily breakfast spot. Just a suggestion, they open at 7:00 am. Don't be their 1st customer of the day or you'll have gotten your own day off to a bad start. 1/7/2022...
Read moreI love Charolettes and we are lucky to have it. They have some real home runs and it’s mostly good but they do have a few misses. If you get something you don’t like, try something else because it is hit or miss. Their acai bowls, pastries, protein oats, black coffee, overnight oats and some lunch items are home runs in my opinion. I like the quesadilla and I add egg for example. Some of the hot breakfast items have been a miss for me. The panini & the burrito are a bit bland so just add some spice/hot sauce. The bread of the panini is a serious miss. I have had it 2x in 6 months and both experiences were the same. I wanted to give them the benefit of the doubt maybe it was just a bad day. The bread is so hard and chewy it was hard to bite or chew my sandwich. I took my sandwich home and used my own bread. Some items on their menu deserve 5 stars. Some deserve 2. For this reason I gave the food an average of 3. I will continue to go to Charolette's and love it and recommend it I just need to be careful about...
Read more$7 for two coffee flavored ice waters. Seriously, I wish I had taken a picture of them. My husband’s iced coffee-ordered black- looked like a weak iced tea and hardly tasted like coffee. Mine-ordered with a little cream and vanilla (charged 60¢ for vanilla)- looked like a sheet of paper. I don’t know if they ran out of iced coffee and just kept adding ice to the pitcher or what, but what we got certainly was not coffee. Super disappointed as I was getting tired of hotel coffee. Wish I had just gone to Starbucks instead and I don’t even really like Starbucks. I should have returned it right then and there simply based on the color of the drinks. Maybe the hot coffee is good, but the cold “coffee” left such a bad taste in my mouth it’s not worth it for me to try (pun not intended). Both my husband and I poured ours out. And I’ve never seen him not finish a coffee. The place was busy and the food looked okay, but I will never know as I...
