After some time to reflect Iâve decided to leave a review on my experience trying on dresses at All In One Bridal by Katelyn. TRIGGER WARNING- TALKS OF UNHEALTHY DIETING. I originally came to Dubuque to try on dress with my family who is local to the area. I wanted to include them in the experience! I booked an appointment with Katelyn over the phone and was excited! Upon my arrival I was greeted by a women who instantly handed me clips and told me to just clip whatever I want. Now, this wasnât my first appointment dress shopping, so I know some salons have an organizational process either by size, style, price, ect. When I asked how I can best go about combing through the racks, I was told there is no organization and to just clip whatever. I had a specific price point I needed to stay in and when I mentioned that, they just said theyâll tell me if itâs too muchâŠ. the tags had no other information on them, which gave me hesitation. A few minutes later, I was greeted by Katelyn. Very friendly, asked some of the usual questions. I filled her in on my requests of what I like and donât like and said I was willing to try on new things as well. When asked if I had been dress shopping before, I felt like I could be honest and mentioned my previous appointment at Zazous. I also shared I found a style of dress I really liked; one with sleeves! After that, I went back to try on more. My friends and family later told me that Linda, Katelynâs mom, began to bash Zazous and talk poorly of the business. I was told the dress I liked has terrible material and was âunforgivingâ for a women with more curves than the average model. And that my choice of sleeves was a bad idea given the time of year I was having my wedding. I was shocked! With Dubuque being a close community, I would expect other small business to support each other, not tear them down. Later in the process when my family was asked about their thoughts of the dresses thus far, my mom mentioned that she wasnât paying for the dress, I was. I was later asked in the dressing room by Katelyn and Linda what I did for a career. I felt that question was to gage my income, which is just tacky. I donât believe they knew my budget, which was concerning as I never know the price of what I was trying on- no $ transparency from Katelyn. Then, I came to a dress I tried on that was about 3 or 4 too small. It was able to zip, but with zero breathing room. I got it on and came out in it to just see the style. It was a stunning dress! I really liked it, but since it was a One of One, it wouldnât work since it was much too small. Katelyn and Linda both told me that I have plenty of time between now and the wedding where I could âDietâ and ârestrictâ to make the dress work. I was appalled. I couldnât believe two women in an industry meant to build up women and make them feel beautiful would suggest I restrict myself to fit into a dress. From there on I was annoyed and wanted the appointment to be over. I was continuously berated by Linda about my choice of dress with sleeves at Zazous saying I would be too hot. I felt like I had to explain myself and defend my choices, which shouldnât be the case when Iâm the one buying the dress and wearing it. Katelynâs mom Linda was overbearing and pushy with dresses, my choices, and what I should be thinking about. It made for an exhausting appointment not only for me, but my family as well. Ultimately, I wanted to write this review to save a future bride from having to lose her self esteem or positive body image. How detrimental it could have been for someone recovering from an eating disorder. This is constructive feedback for All In One Bridal. Overall, Katelyn and Linda did their job, they helped me try on one of a kind dresses and expand my horizons. But, having experienced Zazous early that weekend, I much preferred their approachable consultants, wide variety of different dresses, organization of the racks, tag transparency, and their encouraging vibe throughout the...
Read moreWe got married in September and I have had some time to think about this before writing a review. We used All in One bridal for their DJ services. Leading to the wedding they were very professional and very easy to work with. However, for the price we paid, the service did not match. Only one of our songs playing during the ceremony and it wasnt even loud enough to hear. During the reception the DJ played our first dance song during the dinner music. The DJ claimed she didnt know it was our first dance song but she had the packet we filled out in front if her. Then when it came time to our first dance and other dances the music wasnt even loud enough for the guest to hear. The photographer had to ask us to do our first dance again because she completely missed it. The rest of the night the dh refused to play any music we requested because there was certain songs shed only play after 9 when older people left. The dj definitely was the worst part of our wedding
Usually DJs make or break a wedding and unfortunately this company broke ours. We appreciate the cuts you made for our wedding songs and it would have been great if those cuts were actually used. As for the first dance, father daughter dance etc, no one could hear the song, including us (the bride and groom). We didnt get to have that special moment we have been dreaming about. It was bad enough where my dad asked me after our dance what the song was that I picked. Unfortunately we didnât know when the first dance was starting they started playing the music and someone ran to get us. The DJ did not check in with the us once about the volume but did apologize to us after for ruining our first dance, which we did appreciate. As for not play certain music till after 9 when kids left, that would have been nice to know before we went with you if that was a rule you guys had. We wouldnt have paid $1,300 for the DJ to only play songs we wanted/requested from 9-11 or could have asked the videographer to stay longer. We went over the contract after your response and unfortunately there was nothing in the contract stating you dont play explicit music till after 9 for the kids but it did say âThe Client shall at all times have complete control, direction and supervision of the performance of All In One Bridal By Katelyn at this engagement and Client expressly reserves the right to control the manner, means and detailsâ. And unfortunately that was not the case, as to every request we sent up to the DJ was denied. As we do appreciate you reaching out to resolve this issue after our first review, you did reach out last night at 11:45 p.m which was not an appropriate time to try and resolve the issue, as well as, it did not give us enough time to reply. We understand as a business you pride yourself on your quality of work and the reviews. Unfortunately in this case we do not believe the money we spent reflected the quality of service we received. Also, our photographer was amazing and followed our schedule to a T and so was our videographer. We werent the only ones trying to get the DJ to do a better job and request music to get people on the dance floor. The photographer and videographer tried together to get the DJ to play certain music or help us out but unfortunately they kept...
Read moreWe celebrated our wedding back in September, and I have been trying to decide how I want to writer this review. During the wedding planning process, we were back and forth on the idea of whether or not we wanted to hire a wedding videographer. We ultimately decided that we didn't want to regret anything for our big day, and decided to go ahead and book a wedding videographer. Since this was more of a last minute decision, I knew we would not be booked with the "best of the best". After doing a lot of research, I came across All in One Bridal. I watched hours of their videos on YouTube to ensure their content was similar to what I was looking for. I reached out and spoke to Katelyn, who I should mention is quite pushy. I like people who are direct and to the point, but her attitude can come off as unprofessional at times. This was ultimately not a deal breaker, and I decided to book with them for a videographer. The booking process went smoothly, and I agreed to do the payment plan with half down at booking, and the second half due on August 9th, one month prior to the wedding day. I had received a call from Katelyn on July 18th asking for my second payment to ensure that I would pay it on time. I ensured Katelyn that it would be paid prior to the due date, but she insisted that I send the funds early to ensure she would receive them on time. I had the funds, so it was no big deal to send them early. Closer to the wedding, Katelyn did reach out to go over what exactly we were looking for in the video and how I imagined our dream wedding video to turn out. I went over all of this in detail with her, and we came to a mutual agreement. She had also informed me that Emerson was the name of the person who would be filming the video on our wedding day.
On our wedding day, the videographer, Emerson, showed up right on schedule and introduced himself to everyone. He was very kind and outgoing. He made a great impression on our wedding party and family, and Emerson was able to jump right in with our photographer to capture our big day. I did, however, find out the day after our wedding that Emerson actually works for Honey Blue Media, and not through All in One Bridal.
We received our video by October 13th. After watching the video, I realized that quite a bit of footage we had talked about was not in the video. I did contact Katelyn and discuss this with her, and she said the adjustments would be made and she would contact me when it was finished. After she sent over the edited footage, my husband and I watched it again and we were much more pleased with the final product. Although there was more footage we would have wished was included, we understand that you can't fully include an entire day in on video.
Overall, we are pleased with our choice to book with All in One Bridal. If you are not okay with pushy customer service or having your videographer contracted out, then I would search elsewhere. But, for the price we paid, we are happy with what...
