Good atmosphere loved the fireplace. Wait staff was excellent. I was not impressed with the food. Had the steak and eggs. Asked for the steak will done not rubber. It was hard as a rock and shiny tell me you can't cook a steak well done and not be juicy. You don't just throw it in the grill with the flat plate in top and cook it you take the extra time. The customer knows your busy but cooking a steam takes extra you flip it more slowly. It's only gonna take a minute or two. That's expected. Hash browns were good edges weren't runny that's a plus I hate runny eggs. She had the hash very good. She's a scrambled eggs person I don't care for scrambled she liked them. Wasn't impressed with the bisquits and gravy. Asked for a half order I guess you only give 1/2 of a biscuit. Gravy had a decent taste just never had the sausage like that and not enough in my opinion. But my favorite breakfast is biscuits and gravy. Has been for the last 30 years. I just very seldom change what I order. If I do is usually steak or ham. All in all the experience was very good and she would like to come back again in the future. If your wondering if I've had any cooking experience I used to own Little Joe's pizza in Moline IL. My old Facebook page is still up. But I ran the whole 55 seat restaurant by myself for 30 months before I had to close. Not saying I am the greatest cook but I cooked everything that went out the door as if I was cooking it for myself to take home. When I closed I had a 4.6 reading out of 5. So I was proud of that though there was some ones that were posted not one time to my face sis anyone ever say anything bad. I know of some of those ones never entered my restaurant and not one customer ever said they're was a better pizza in the quad cities. So that's my story and I'm sticking with it. But please continue the good work and continue success. I wish I had never had been set back by contractors for almost a year. Take care...
Read moreTerrible experience. Ordered a meat lovers skillet. The bacon was raw. I picked out a bunch of it and showed the waitress. I had set it on a plate with my eggs. She said, "eww, I take it you don't want this then" and I said no. She swiftly took out my ticket and set it on the table then she took the plate away, with my eggs and never came back. Never offered to remedy the issue at all. Went to pay when leaving and the girl asked how it was and I told her. She said she was sorry and asked if they had remade the order and I said no. She offered no discount or anything other than a I'm sorry. I often go to the downtown location, the waitress I usually get knows me by name, what I eat, what I drink, and decided to go the west end instead, as it was closer to where I was. What a terrible mistake. I don't think I'll be back at the downtown location again either after this experience. Dubuque has been saturated with restaurants, there is no need to go to places that don't want...
Read moreUpon arrival , they sat us right away. Clean table and waitress brought drinks right away. The food was good and plenty of it. Then... the booth behind my wife and I who were there before we sat down began talking loud enough for most booths around us to hear everything. Thanks for sharing, but we aren't interested in anything you said. They were kind enough to start throwing in some F'bombs for us, which is where we draw the line. We told the waitress who did nothing, and then my wife went to the hostess stand and requested to speak with a manager. She was told there was no manager there, and when asked who was in charge, the girl got a deer in the headlight look. We paid the bill and said we won't be back and also found we we given a "leverage fee" for $1. Be aware that they put it on the bill and won't take off. Unfortunately, what could have been a good experience quickly went away, and we will be looking for other restaurants...
