I recently visited this new coffee shop in downtown Duluth, and I have to say, it’s quickly become my go-to spot. The vibe is fresh and modern, really adding something new to the downtown scene. The coffee is so smooth—it’s easy to tell they put a lot of care into their brews. My favorite is the Alchemist Special. It’s this perfect blend of Dutch coffee with a nice little espresso kick that gives it a unique edge. If you’re a coffee lover, you have to try it. I also can’t recommend the croffle enough. It’s this amazing hybrid of a croissant and waffle, and it’s the perfect pairing with any drink. The tea here is also clean and crisp, just as refreshing as the atmosphere. And speaking of refreshing, don’t miss out on the Cloud—it’s an absolute must-try. The service is top-notch too. The staff is incredibly friendly and actually takes the time to explain the menu and give you recommendations based on your taste preferences, which I really appreciated. Overall, I highly recommend this place. It’s a great addition to the downtown area, and I’ll definitely be back!

I have to be honest, I solely went to this coffee shop based on the name. I'm glad I went because the drinks are so delicious. First Let's talk about the ambiance of the place. I love the alchemist theme of the place. It does feel like it's a lab with the dark interior, the interesting lighting, the gold slits of the mirror, and the beakers on the shelf. It would have been cool if the drinks were served in beakers. Speaking of drinks, the vanilla cloud and caramel cloud were delicious. I also loved the butterscotch latte. Make sure you try those. The staff are friendly and courteous. They took the time to answer any questions I had as well as made adjustments to my drinks to my taste. They definitely make delicious drinks. If you are looking for delicious drinks, a cool vibe, and good service, go check them out.

Beautiful coffeeshop! It has a real 1920s gilded age speakeasy vibe with all the black and gold. Very cool place to hang out. Compared to the other Alchemist location, this one has a lot more seating, which I was really happy to see. I recommend the Alchemist latte, which is a blend of their special cold brew and regular coffee (if I'm remembering correctly). Anyway, it was VERY good. One of the best lattes I've had. Will definitely be back to have another and second some time in this space. Another thing I liked was that hot drinks (not ordered for take out) were served in mugs which was nice to see for sustainability.

Dropped in with my husband on an impromptu date. We chose Alchemist purely because it was the nearest coffee shop. We had a good time and will be back. I ordered a croffle and iced fruit tea; he ordered a matcha + coffee combo drink. We were both satisfied, though I think the chocolate croffle “glaze” was more like Hershey’s ice cream syrup - needs thickening and creaminess added. The barista was very helpful when my husband couldn’t choose what to order. The barista took time to walk him through the various options and what’s in each drink. When our order was delayed, the barista came over with a verbal update and then delivered our order to our table when it was ready instead of making us wait at the counter. Excellent service-oriented staff! If you’re a Harry Potter fan, this coffee shop has the vibes for you! The lighting is dim and soft (perfect for those of us seeking a quieter atmosphere to sip and talk). Unfortunately, I had to deduct a star because Alchemist was absolutely freezing. I tend to be cold and always carry a jacket but was getting goose bumps by the time we left anyway. Even my husband, who rarely feels the cold, commented on the temperature. In future, we’ll likely have to...

I was SO excited to hear about them coming to the area! Then I tried them… and it was even better than I expected 🩷 it’s definitely a step above traditional coffee spots in the area. They are truly crafted drinks (I got the lemon ginger tea and it was perfect. Sam made it and he really connected to the drinks we ordered and took the time to make them as described). If I’m gonna pay for something special like a crafted drink … I want it to be fresh and done right. This place seems to take the ingredients and the crafting of the beverage seriously. I won’t mention the other chains… but they have lost touch (or never had this to begin with) to make it worth what those chains charge. I have checked out the Johns creek location and it’s also very cool! There’s even pottery hand made by someone overseas and it’s on display at Johns creek store. It’s beautiful and so is the energy of both locations. It’s something new and unique and I love that… and the service of the people working there. Genuinely kind people from the ones I’ve met. Ellie, Sam and Noah (two stores but same company) keep up the good magic yall! I’ll be back again to keep filling up my punch card (they have a...
