I normally eat at this place 4 to 5 times a month. I am a follow local business owner and take my employee's there regularly. Today I took my family there to get dinner. We were seated fast and had our order taken. I have a 2 and a 6 year old with me. You know you are on borrowed time trying to keep a 2 year old seated in a restaurant. 15 minutes goes by waiter says, sorry for the wait food will be out shortly. 30 minutes goes by waiter comes and says the same thing. 45 minutes ,the same speach. I have no problem with the order taking longer due to a larger party in front of us. This is where it's gets messed up. There were 2 tables seated roughly 10 to 15 minutes after us getting their food. Now I am getting irritated knowing someone dropped the ball. I am an operations manager I know when there is a failure, it's my job. 55 min goes by waiter comes by again sorry for the wait food will be out shortly. Now I am getting pissed and ask to speak to the manager.
A lady named Kathy comes out and says our order was late due to a large table. I asked her to explain why the 2 tables next to us came in after had already been served their food. I then asked who was at fault. "Because I don't feel it is right to short the waiter a tip if it's the kitchens fault however if it's ths waiters fault he doesn't deserve a 20% plus tip." She wouldn't answer the question and still blamed it on the large party. This is clearly a lie at this point. My ticket got lost on the kicthen line and Kathy wouldn't admit to it. They finally get our food out to us. Nothing special, just a sandwhich, wrap, and a kids mac & cheese. Nothing that couldn't be prepared in less then 5 mins tops.
She did not seem to be sincere at all to the fact the employees in which she failed to manage properly messed our order up. As a manager you are responsible for the actions good and bad of the team you are running. You are the person in which makes things right between the customer and the business when things go wrong.
I never rate businesses on how they operate when things are smooth but how they handle a situation in which things go wrong.
You Kathy are a failure! If I were the owner you would be fired asap.

Read moreFirst time deciding to eat at this restaurant since living in Duluth but we will not be back. It took awhile to be acknowledged at the door for seating. I’m all about restaurant presentation & customer service and it lacked thereof. Tables and chairs in disarray, food and garbage in the middle of the floors, our table was covered in a sticky substance I had to ask for it to be wiped down. We were told 1 waiter would be with us and a completely different waitress was sent over to assist us after waiting so long to ask for drink orders. Food was ok we ordered two plates a rib & combo. I ordered chicken & smoked sausage with fried okra & potato salad with sauce on the side. Chicken was very dry. My son liked the ribs however they were extremely tough. The Squeeze drink was tasty. It wasn’t busy at all but the waitress was hard to find. Anyway it’s time to pay & I'm asked if card or cash. I say cash and give $100; waitress comes back saying they don’t have change do I have something smaller? Well I didn’t, it was all I had to pay our bill. If you all had no change then cash shouldn’t have been an option. An employee had to leave and find change from another establishment so we had to wait even longer now before leaving. I wish I had brought another form of payment to avoid the inconvenience for everyone. Very mediocre experience. I think by the time we arrived everyone was maybe over their shift & ready to go home. Read moreThe food was amazing but the service was terrible!! I would not go back! There were 4 adults and 2 small children at our table. Our waiter started off ok, taking our drink orders, apps and the kids food orders. He forgot to bring out some of what we ordered- no big deal. Someone else brought it. We ordered our food and when it came he forgot things. Someone else brought them. He asked if we were all set and then he disappeared. Our drinks were empty and he was gone for at least 25 minutes. He finally came back and we asked for refills and he said how would you like the Check split. We told him these 3 on one and other 3 on the other. He said can I just split it down the middle? I said no because I had ordered extra things and didn’t want the other family to pay for it. He seemed irritated. He brought back our checks and then disappeared. Finally another server offered to run our cards and get change. After she took them he came back and I told him that another server took them. He came back with my friend card and then asked me if he could keep the change on my $50 bill with a $35 dollar Check!?! I said NO so he went and got my change. After asking a couple times for to go boxes we finally left. It was dead, there were maybe 2-3 other tables other than us. The service was just not good.
