This chocolaterie shop is located in historic downtown Duluth and has artisan chocolate treats and also serves gourmet ice cream. The shop was voted best of Gwinett in 2017. The mural on the side of the building drew my attention to the shop and when I looked up and saw the ice cream sign, I knew I had to go in. The mural is known as "Chocolaterie Lady Mural" and is 70 feet.
When I walked in I was immediately greeted by a young lady with a friendly smile. As i made my way to the counter, I had to stop and look at the prepackaged chocolate goodies and gift items. I sampled the lavender blueberry and spellbound butterbeer flavors and went with the latter in a waffle cone. You can check their website for current flavors since they can change during the week. All their ice creams are made with pure Non-GMO and hormone-free milk and cream. Every product is gluten-free unless a cookies or cake is used as a primary ingredient.
The scoops were a generous size and the ice cream tasted fresh and flavorful and it was very creamy. The shop also has seating inside and out, it was nice to...
Ā Ā Ā Read moreI was very disappointed with the service I got from this place. It had been a year since I last visited. My bro and I got no greeting, no welcome, and we felt un-wanted! There were two girls (workers) chatting amongst themselves and there was also another lady (one of the workers as well), but she too did not give a smile or greeting. How the heck are they going to drive business if they don't treat everyone fairly! This is not right! I wanted to get a King of Pops ice pop but their negative vibe just killed my mood for ice pops. Also, their homemade ice cream isn't that great (that's why I've stopped buying them). There were chunks of ice in the ice cream. The chocolates are ok. I've had better. And their truffles are "meh ok" as well.
There was a couple who also walked inside the store and got no sort of welcome or greeting. I feel like they discriminate their customers and that's just NOT right!! Their manager did a poor job coaching them about how to treat their customers. They really need...
Ā Ā Ā Read moreWe used to love coming here until we had an unsavory experience with a rude employee this evening. We mustāve come in a few minutes before the shop was closing to get ice cream. We got ice cream and sat down inside to eat it because it was raining outside when an employee came over, locked the door and said to us ājust so you know weāre closed now,ā then stood there awkwardly rolling her eyes as if we were inconveniencing her leaving for the day. There were still other people in the shop buying chocolates so itās not like us leaving would make her exit for the day any quicker. If you donāt want people coming in before you close, then close earlier. I donāt know what to tell you. A better way to have handled this would have been to let us finish or say āhey guys, weāre closing but take your time to finish,ā instead of pressuring us to leave. Wonāt be...
