Tried this place for the first time and was pleasantly surprised! Ordered chicken 65 spicy which has good smokey flavor. They brought us out some complementary mini simosas with a sauce for dipping which was really good. Different than the regular cilantro chutney. Kinda subtly sweet and well seasoned and a little bit spicy. Very good. I ended up dipping the chicken 65 in it too.
I got the chicken kadhai spicy, and garlic naan both with no cilantro. Very good flavor in my dish as well as my husbands vindaloo.
Only feedback we have is we do wish the naan was cooked in a tandoor or maybe some other way so it wasn't so flat and doughey. Very much the texture of pita bread compared to somewhere like viceroy where it's crispy with bubbles and has a bit of a crust. Peri Peri fries had nice spice on them but we're for sure undercooked. They accidentally gave ours to another table so I'm assuming the chef was in a rush to get them back out. Nothing some reheating in a air fryer at home won't fix. Otherwise everything else...
Read moreThe service and atmosphere of this restaurant is amazing ! Look at the photos. The silverware was so fancy. The decor and ambience was absolutely great (despite its location in a normal shopping strip). HOWEVER, the food was underwhelming. Had Bhature (leavened bread) that were not put into hot enough oil for frying. The end result is usually a puffed bread; this one was a disaster. Main dish, cholle, was not flavorful. Served did apologize for the same but tried to comp it. But I would have rather they made an extra dish to go. Same went for the butter chicken - which is not easy to mess up. However, the end result in this case was again a major let down. To the owner: Improve the quality of your food (either to Indian taste or Americanized taste, either will work), and you have a gem of a restaurant. Rest all...
Read moreThis is a relatively new place or under new management. The ambiance is great as compared to other Indian/Desi restaurant. However, they need to improve their service. The appetizer was served after the main course and I never got my drink. It took them forever ti serve the dessert.
The food is good though. Their chicken 555 has a balanced flavor with a kick of spice; and their schzewan vegetable fired rice is delicious. The taste takes you back home.
The show stopper is the dessert; I am not a fan of desi dessert but I loved it too. Gulab jamun with ice-cream and gajjar halwa with vanilla ice-cream...
