McDonald's — Restaurant in Duluth

We live nearby and always seem to have a problem here. They are not focused on speed or being helpful. Most recently it was dark outside and they didn't not have any lights on (parking lot, signs, menu boards) and when we pulled up to the drive through they said it was closed and to come inside (it was only 8:30pm). We go inside and order and meanwhile they are clearly still serving cars in the drive through. After waiting around 8 minutes we finally get our food and really just glad this experience was over.

You know when it's clearly a bad situation and you try to make eye contact with the manager to get their attention? The manager was a high schooler and was clearly just focused on closing the restaurant/counting registers and not giving a good customer experience. He made eye contact with me but just kept going like ignoring the situation will make it better or something.

Update 8/2/20 - part of our breakfast order was missing from the bag. Again, they still are not focused on getting it right the first time. We used the mobile app to order which was very easy and convenient, but missing food was disappointing. Adding a star (from 1 to 2 now) because I called the store and they offered to replace it so I will take them on up on that offer. I'm glad to see they are willing to make it right when wrong.

Update 3/5/2025 - feels like this McDonald's is better in the daytime now but still really struggles at night. Adding another star for this consistent experiences. Food has been good quality. However, it was raining this afternoon and we went here to let kids play on the playground. After ordering and getting our food we were informed that the play area was reserved for a birthday party and we had to leave. Felt like zero sympathy from the employees. We asked what time the reservation started and they said 6pm but it was already past 6:30pm. We looked at our receipt and we paid at 6:01pm and had been in the playground. The tables were dirty in the playground and I even borrowed a cloth from their sanitary bucket to clean the tables for them. We ended up moving into the main area and just tried to finish our meal, but the kids were very bummed out by the experience. We're glutens for punishment so we ordered more fries and nuggets as the kids were still hungry. They ended up not bringing them out to the table and left it in a bag on the counter. I went there tonight after work an I crazing McDonald’s An I was there at 10:20 first an tried to open the door they had locked all the doors so I waited in the drive thru for about 10mins no body answer then went up to the 2nd window an honked my horn an idk if she was the manger or what but she was like how can I help u I ask them if they were still open(knowing they don’t close til 11:00 ) she said no we r not open an I was like y she said it’s 11:00 she said the clock on my iPhone 8 WAS WRONG like come in now it’s a brand new phone the. I looked at the clock in my car it’s said 10:30 just like my phone an I showed her my phone an she was like ok.....how can I help u I said can I get a double chee....... she didn’t let me finish an said were closed shut the window in front of my face i an pissed I do not recommend u go to this. McDonald’s At all I have been here mupile times in the morning an they r perfectly fine but rush hour hits an when it’s starts to slow down they like to close up early even though there were people inside still ordering an sitting down who ever that rude lady was an if she reads this she knows who this is bc she don’t k ow who she dealing with right now (that’s y she still working at McDonald’s an an I’m 17 making more money then this grown women do t yell at me bc u messed up ur life...

Fathers day I tried to swing through the drive thru for a soda and a fry. I ended up spending 5 minutes at the speaker with no one on the other end. Ok, so I pull up to the first window to wait,another couple minutes pass by, still no one there. So then I pull up to the window where we usually pick up our order. The employees just look over and stare like were stupid.. So finally I just go inside. I wait another 8 mins through the line while the employees were just standing around. I get to have my order taken by a hispanic lady in a blue manager shirt with no nametag. I tell her that we had waited at the drive thru speaker and both windows for a bit and I was forced to come inside. She didn't say "sorry about that" or " were having difficulties with etc." Just asked me what I was ordering. I asked if she was a manager to which she happily replied "yes". So after spending over 20 mins for a fry and a Styrofoam cup I received my fries undercooked and super greasy. I poured my own coke so at least that was good. This place has always been a dump with poor service and a crappy manager. How is it that other McDonald's in the area can handle the drive thru and this one can't? Be prepared to wait, wait and wait. Then get old or...
