Perkins American Food Co. — Restaurant in Duluth

We are from Canada visiting for black friday and perkins is usually the place to go for breakfast. We came as a group of six, put our orders in, and 20 minutes later still no coffee or juice that we ordered. We finally got our servers attention and we asked if we could get the drinks and her response was oh yeah sure, not even a sorry i forgot or anything. She brings them and then says your food will be out shortly. 20/30 minutes later she comes and says their system went down and unfortunately our orders never got placed, even though about 30 minutes prior she said they would be out soon. She said that our meals would be out in 10 minutes, she would put them on priority. At this point people that sat down after us had already gotten their food and well into their meal. We’ve now been sitting there for almost an hour and still no food. We expressed our concerns and she said that she had the manager cooking up our meals as he was the “fastest and best at cooking”. Another 10-15 minutes go by, still no food we ask to speak to the manager. She comes back out and said the manager offered us a free dessert. We said absolutely not, so she says ok how about 15% off. We asked if we can speak directly to the manager, he comes out making multiple excuses and says food will be out right away and he will discount our bill. Food finally comes out after 30 minutes when her and the manager said it would be 10. One plate the side is covered in gravy from one of the other meals, the meal with gravy and biscuits had it all over the other food, one of our meals was missing the side of hashbrowns, all the toast was cold and my hashbrowns were as crispy as dry spaghetti noodles, and once the missing side of hashbrowns came out they were still basically raw. Pancakes were the only good thing. Atleast they discounted our bill but their responses and the way they kept telling us excuses was absolutely ridiculous. Specially when we ask for the manager and he doesn’t even come out, just tells the waitress to tell us what his response was. Definitely will...

Dear Duluth Perkins, Although I throughly enjoyed my meal, I was slightly disappointed by the whole experience. As we walked in we were greeted by the empty pine wood host stand for about 15 minutes, and let me tell you he was not a great conversationalist. Soon a very nice gentleman brought us to our table as he was very nice, he did seat us at a table without a view of the beautiful Lake Superior and sounds of the crashing waves, which is hard to do since only 3-4 tables did not face the lake. As our server approached she asked if we wanted anything to drink, she got one order from my party of 4 and then walked away, leaving the rest of us to be saddened by our lack of desired drinks. While pursuing the menu one of our party members face dropped as she learned lunch was not served until 11am and her hunger for a salty meal had to be replaced with something from the first 3 pages. Happily everything else did pick up as we were greeted with our correct orders and enjoyed our food all the while we enjoyed the view of multiple cars pulling in and out of the parking lot and the wonderful sounds of revving engines. I ordered inside since what we wanted to order online didn't have a price. (Rib special feeds 1-2 people) I showed the person at the counter what I wanted and that there is no price for online so he gave me the price. I proceeded to order as per what the online order states ribs with 2 sides..so I said I'd like the full rack of ribs and for my sides the mash potatoes and the Mac and cheese..was told you only get 1 side hmmm online says 2 sides showed them again and nope only one side..ok not going to argue figured it was a big portion of it's to feed 2 people...nope just a regular sized portion..not for 2 people..I also ordered the mega cinnamon roll plain that also offered but additional cost ok understandable..I get my order get home..that's how I found out the loaded mash potatoes portion was regular size..the ribs looked good but we're extremely greasy and the cinnamon roll was raw dough in the center..🤢 Ive never had bad service at this location up until now.
