Out of curiosity, we walked in to see what part of Africa the cuisine the restaurant was based. (I am Kenyan born). We decided to sit and cancel the Indian food pick up we had previously ordered for pickup.. Mistake. The reception lady was very nice, accommodating and knowledgeable. She was very helpful with information on the different foods they have, All Nigerian. I ordered the bitter leaf with goat meat and my husband ordered the palm fruit with beef. The waiting for this food commenced. Aaand we waited, and waited. A couple who walked in were searched their food almost immediately. My food finally arrived. My husbands food was searved 50 minutes later. We both ate separately because of this. The portions were pathetic!! The tiny plastic bowl of the bitter leaf with goat meat had a little bone with very tough skin on it. The other piece was of rib bones with a sliver of flesh on it and the other was a tough piece that was as hard as a piece of wood. My husbandโs dish, when it finally arrived, had a sea of oil on it. THIS COST US $70.50. My issue is the service. Although the young lady apologized and said that our food took a little longer as it as difficult to cook, I still felt that we were treated differently. Although the culture may call for eating with your hands, we were not offered cutlery. Our dishes arrived far apart. If we wanted to eat separately, we would have gone separately. Am left with the thought that they did not really want us there. Worst experience ever. No more African...
ย ย ย Read moreMe, my daughter, my friend, and my husband had a AMAZING time here! My daughter ordered jollof, goat meat, and plantains. She DEVOURED the food. It was my first time ordering fisherman's soup, and I LOVED it ๐. My friend recommended it. You should try it! My husband had egusi and enjoyed it.(besides the fact he was hungry and loved egusi). I'd really recommend this place. We walked in here hungry and walked out full.Other reviews said that the meat was small, but my daughter could not finish her goat meat. The workers were really nice and our food was delivered fast. They have take-out plates in case you can't finish your food. We don't drink beer but the beer was expensive! About 119.99 or more for beer. The jollof was about 24.99. The plantains was cooked perfectly ๐. The rice was like mount everest. So, if you are really hungry, order the rice! It is not oily at all. The fisherman's soup is really big and tastes amazing ๐. The waiter was patient when me and my friend were talking. They have a lot of space so this place is great for big groups! They have tvs to watch shows while you are waiting and while you are eating. Today is Tuesday and they close at 10pm today. You can also get your food delivered. The inside is very clean. They have a sink to wash your hands instead of hand sanitizer which is very sanitary. They have AC to cool you down. They have a lot of things on the menu. Their water is cool and and has ice in it which is perfection on a hot day. I...
ย ย ย Read moreI should call an Attorney on Monday! FOOD ALLERGIES ARE VERY SERIOUS! I decided to try African food today (01/08). I ordered goat, jollof rice, yam fufu and whitening fish. My order totaled $33.00. When I tasted the fish before leaving the building, I found out it was mackerel instead. I asked the young gentleman why did you give me mackerel when I ordered whiting fish? His response was we were out of whiting. I said, you should have informed me instead of making the decision for me. Needless to say, I paid for the order trusting the remainder of the order was correct. When I arrived home to try the fufu, I was given oatmeal fufu instead. I called the restaurant and asked the same young guy, why did you give me oatmeal fufu when I asked for yam fufu? His response was, we were out of the yam fufu. I asked him, did it occur to you that I may be allergic to oats which is why I requested yam fufu? I am so upset! The restaurant owner needs to stop traveling and run his restaurant or shut it down. Food allergies are a serious matter and unfortunately, the guy who he has running his establishment when he is away has little to no regard to the damage he is doing by being deceptive. Do not eat here! They do not care about their customers. Eat Jamaican instead. The curry goat is good and you get what you ask for! If my throat keeps scratching I will be calling an...
