🌟 🌟 🌟 🌟 🌟 The best White Windmill in GA for cozy, quiet studying and tasty treats. I've been to all of them and this is my absolute favorite WW. I always drive past much closer ones to go to this particular location. The two women that manage it are very approachable and friendly, while maintaining professionalism. This location isn't always super quiet, though, which is still another reason I prefer it - it's predictable. That is, I know which hours to expect a crazy, fun environment from this WW, and which hours to expect peaceful alone time. The other locations (especially Buford Hwy) are just insane. At any given time of day or night. Always. The staff there don't even have time to try to be any of the positive things the two ladies at P'tree Ind. Blvd. are. Additionally, the furniture at this location is to die for! Buford Hwy is full of ungodly hard and uncomfortable wooden seats and benches. Other locations do sometimes have a few of the insanely comfortable furniture sets, but P'tree Ind. Blvd. is absolutely filled with them. They're fluffy clouds of happiness. It cannot be overstated how comfortable, cozy, and peaceful this location is.
Whether you're looking for a great place to grab a bite to eat while lounging with some friends and enjoying free wifi, or if you're cramming for that final exam or rushing to meet that paper deadline, this location is your best bet! Starbucks doesn't have anything on White Windmill. Good luck studying there!
Edited to Add: A quick note about the staff; not all of them speak English, and when they do, it is not usually their first language. Keep this in mind before you think someone is being "rude" to you. I have been going to this location for 5 years now; you can trust me when I say they are the kindest and most hard-working WW managers in GA. The comments about rudeness from these people come from simple misunderstandings and a lack of patience & empathy from the customer's side. For example, the huge tables with the couches literally have always had English signs on the table stating they are for 3 or more people. If you sit there by yourself or with only 1 other person, they might try to ask you if you have more people coming and if not, then to move, because a large group might be on their way (they often call in) and they need to make room for them. I often see the owners even combine the small tables into enormous tables along the walls for 1 or 2 big parties coming in. And the person complaining about them cleaning around you? Seriously? They don't ever use any chemical sprays or anything (no scents); they're literally sweeping and wiping tables off, it is always about three to five seconds long, and it's for your benefit. If you want to sit around crumbs and messes, you can go to the local Starbucks or McDonald's. Sheesh!
You seriously won't have any problems at all as long as you are a kind and somewhat observant person; basically, a good customer. When I spend hours here writing papers, I am always fully aware of when the place starts getting packed (particularly evenings) and they start running out of room, and I move on my own to give the larger parties more space. You would be an extremely rude customer if you didn't, and personally, I'd never want you in my store detracting from my...
Read moreCaution!! Mistakes ahead: This USED to be one of my favorite spots to enjoy a cup of tea in a relaxing atmosphere. Today I made the mistake of visiting during the 9am-10am mid morning hours. The cafe was empty when I arrived so I attempted to sit at a corner table. I was planning to take a conference call and the table was big enough to accommodate my laptop, notebook, and tea. The staff member behind the counter asked if I could move to another table because I was seated at a table reserved for 3 or more. I laughed and said sure! I guess y'all get busy early? She nodded solemnly. In fact everything about her was solemn. Like she was attending a funeral for the fish that have the bad fortune of decorating the walls of the creepy ladies room. Aaaannyyyway, not 5 mins after I move to a smaller table, 2 ladies walk in and proceed to sit at the SAME TABLE reserved for 3 or more... I look over at fish funeral and she says nothing to them regarding the very strict rules regarding table occupancy. I wait patiently for the rush of customers that will eventually mobilize her....and before I know it: opportunity arrives. In the form of a single man. Who orders a single cup of tea. And seats himself comfortably at another table reserved for...you guessed it! THREE OR MORE! Yet again, fish funeral and her friend who has now arrived to work, looking as delightful as a crab w no shell, do ABSOLUTELY NOTHING.
Within 20 mins they all leave. And now it's just me, fish funeral, and crabby pants. I was taking notes for my call so I temporarily place my phone on speakerphone so I can take notes, and since there is no one in the entire shop that I could possibly be disturbing. Well that was mistake number 3 (#2 was the tea I ordered. Luckily that mistake won't happen again) for the day: CrabbyPants herself comes over and asks me to take my phone off speakerphone. I stare at her blankly, trying to decide if I should feign lack of understanding of yet another rule, or better: absolute defiance.
Instead I simply start packing up my laptop and notebook. As I leave I address Crabby herself and let her know that I am glad to take my business elsewhere because she clearly has enough business at her EMPTY establishment to be justified in treating her ONLY customer with such attitude.
I hope the next time I drive by here on my way to a friendlier cafe, she is happy to keep company w fish funeral, cuz as it stands I've been parked outside for 20 mins and guess what: still empty!
Good luck White Windmill of Duluth. Your days are numbered as long as your staff...
Read moreCoffee was delicious but, that was the only good thing about this place. The what I think is the owner or employee was not friendly. When my friend and I waked in the location the place was empty. We were going to have a study session so we decide to sit in a long table so we could spread out books. As soon as we sit down the employee explains to us we can not sit there because it has to be 3 people or more... We thought it wasn't a big deal since the place was empty but we moved to the next table. While we are moving shes literally cleaning around us -__ -
We decide to ignore the rude behavior because we like the White Windmill Brand ( We've been to several locations before ) I order my coffee and I asked her to make it for HERE not in a to go cup. She says " yes ill make it for here" and proceeds to give it to me in a to go container .... AGAIN I ignore the fact that she didn't do what I asked because I thought maybe she misunderstood. I open my coffee and its not even full cup I paid $4.23 for what was less then a tall coffee ( Starbucks size) Aside from the fact that the actual to go container does not even have a logo... IF you are going to charge me almost $5 for a cup of coffee that is not even full you can at least pay attention to detail and get a logo on your cups.
NOW JUMPING INTO what really got me upset . Like I mention earlier she made us move because we were only to people in a table that is 3 or more. And these 2 girls ( might I add Korean girls) come in and sit in the exact same table and she says nothing to them about sitting there AND THERE'S ONLY 2 OF THEM ???? LIKE REALLY ?? Can we all say together RUDE! PS. Sorry...
