Hansel & Gretel Bakery Cafe - Peachtree — Restaurant in Duluth

This used to be one of our favorite places when they first opened (earlier this year or last year?), but service has gone down since opening. When we used to first frequent this place, the owner used to work there and was always so very nice, gave us recommendations, remembered us each time we went, and also honored the military discount. But after a while, we didn’t see her anymore, and now we haven’t seen her in the past 6 months. Both the food and the service have declined. They used to have a wide variety of pastries, but now they don’t have as much. My favorites were the almond croissant with strawberry jam and tiger bread, but both have been MIA the last few times we stopped in. And when we ask for the military discount, which we’ve gotten every time the owner was there, the staff tells us they don’t honor that, even though the owner used to honor it and the Assi Plaza location...

I picked up a different bakery surprise bag from Too Good To Go today—grabbed it right after work. It turned out to be from a Korean bakery with a nice, relaxed atmosphere and pleasant decor. The bag included five individually wrapped breads, which I really appreciated. There was a cream bread, a matcha bread, two filled buns, and a large roll. Overall, great value for the price. Everything looked good and tasted pretty decent too. Definitely a good deal, and I’d be interested in going back to try some of their other breads next time.
