I've read a lot of great reviews for this place and finally was able to try it. When I first heard of this place, it was on a bulletin board at the Home Depot in Carpentersville for their employees. The employees mentioned this great pizza place. The guy there was very nice and timed our food very well. We enjoyed talking to him and getting to know a little about this place. Food taste great.. we didn't order too much. The veggie platter, salads and a sausage pizza. When the pizza came, I totally forgot to take a picture of it and dived right in to eating. It brings back memories from when we used to live in Chicago with all the great pizzas in the city. We'll be back, if not, take out or delivery is another option. Oh, totally forgot, their soda machine taste great too and love that they have "water soda" on their menu... you don't see that often and it's great how they didn't leave that out (even though we all know that soda is always available but nice to not neglect it).

This restaurant has been here for many years, and we have been there quite a few times with the latest being tonight. The dinner salads are just a plate of lettuce with 2 grape tomatoes halves. The entree's are heavy old school style. I thought the Fettuccine Alfredo was good, very rich and filling. My wife did not care for her lasagna because it was too heavy tasting. Our friend that was dining with us did not like the angel hair pasta because he said the meat sauce hardly had any meat in it and had little taste. The bread was so hard that it was difficult to cut and even harder to chew. My wife thought the olive oil served with the bread tasted cheap. The service was only average. They had a hard time keeping our water glasses filled. My wife was not offered any more hot water for her tea. There were long periods of time where our server disappeared out of the dining room even though they were not busy.

Quality : terrible The quality of the ingredients in the taste is incredibly low. The pasta dish I ordered mentioned it came with capers, and there were no capers to be found. The olives in there were the cheapest quality, the pasta I would compare to the old country buffet or Olive Garden style ingredients. I also asked for a lot of grated Parmesan on top, which I got none of. Hoping that at least one of the ingredients in the dish was of mediocre quality. This place is the classic example of Baby boomer restaurant, with fancy dining atmosphere, and fancy names on the menu in the same quality as fast food. Perfect for people who have no conception of the quality of food they are eating.

Update: I received a call from management after posting this review and the issue has been addressed to my satisfaction. I want to share that both meals on the evening of the birthday celebration were delicious and plentiful and the wait staff attentive. My family, friends, and colleagues have enjoyed Dominick's food for catering, on-site private parties, and personal celebrations for years. I appreciate the response to my concern.

Only sharing this because no response was received when communication was sent to owner/manager. Leftovers were taken for packaging. When we requested the packages more than once, we were told to pick them up at the bar on our way out. As we were leaving, our leftovers were not on the bar. The leftovers were more than half of our meals and intended to be leftovers for this retiree and widowed guest. Check had been paid and when asked again where the left overs were, the staff just shrugged it off. Didn't make a fuss as this was a birthday dinner for my guest. No offer of compensation was made by the staff. Same information and more detail provided in the letter mailed the next day to the owner/ manager. After supporting this business for over 25 years, I am extremely disappointed in their lack of attention to this issue. Since no reply has been received, this post...

So the first thing I noticed when I looked at the menu was that the carbonara has alfredo sauce. Carbonara has no cream whatsoever there's no alfredo sauce ever. This is a disgrace now I ordered chicken marsala and I asked how it was prepared because I wanted to make sure it was authentic. Basically the chicken breast should be pounded out and very lightly coated with salted flour that's really it. The waitress told me it was breaded but it sounds like we're talking about the same thing and it wasn't. I just got it back to the hotel room this is like breaded like fried chicken. I would say it looks more like a chicken cutlet or chicken milanesa I can barely taste the marsala the pasta is extremely soft it should be prepared al dente dollars. Especially for $24! I wouldn't pay $8 for this it's like chicken fried steak with some sort of broth. I will never come back to this place. I don't mean to be harsh but these are all very simple things to make. There should not be this kind of breading on chicken for Marsala . And if this is how they bred their veal someone needs to go in the kitchen and slap the cook and the owner. I'm so upset I spent $24 on this garbage. No Italian who comes from Italy would ever eat this... What a...

This used to be our go to place for Italian Food. Went on Tuesday night. 8 people in restaurant. Only 1 waitress. Waitress played host, waitress, cleared tables and answered phones. We placed our order about 10 minutes after entering. My husband order a cup of soup as starter and i ordered a salad.Waited for a cup of soup and a dinner salad that never came. However, during the 45 minutes that we waited two couples that came in after us, ordered, were served their meals, were brought drinks and left. Waitress finally came to our table with our meals at which time we told her that we never received our starters. She asked if we wanted them now with our meal. No! We told her no but that we would like an adjustment to the bill for things we paid for but did not get. Our meals were cold by the time we got them but didn't send them back because we just wanted to get out of there. After some heated but controlled discussion, we were given a credit of $5 on $55 meal. We were really disappointed and upset especially since it was our anniversary and had been looking forward to a pleasant night and a good meal. Will not be going back to...
