BE PREPARED TO EAT AND BE WELCOMED!

What an awesome little find in downtown Dundee. We were coming from Toledo to celebrate a birthday, intending on going to another pizza place in town, and when I got out of the car, my eyes landed on this little spot across the way! I asked a woman that was coming out of the other pizza place which was better, and three women walking along the sidewalk shouted "River's Edge!" 🤭

I couldn't agree more, the atmosphere is cozy with nice, private, wooden booths, the staff was super friendly, very much a family atmosphere. We ordered a SMALL cheesy bread, and it was almost enough to eat for a whole meal! Jan, one of the co-owners, was making her rounds of the tables, a quality behavior and characteristic I love of small business owners!! She stopped at our table to check how everything was, and we got a chance to learn how she uses her grandparents old world recipes in their Italian food!

Then on to the SMALL Chicago style pizza I ordered, and the Kansas City burger and fries he ordered.... Whoa! Let's just say I'm glad I limited myself to two cheesy breads, because after two pieces of that pizza, I was beyond stuffed! Canolli had to come home with us! 🤣😋

What a great experience, we...

Came here for the first time today. I really enjoyed our meal but was thrown off by our waitress’s attitude. As a former server I totally understand, and I try to be as pleasant as possible to any and all servers. However, we were getting ready to leave and we had ordered a large 14in pizza. We hadn’t finished it, in fact only had 2 slices of it. So I asked for a large box. She came back with a small/ medium box. I asked if maybe we could get a larger box so it will all fit. She then took our box and came back with what looked like the same sized box. Frustrated by this I crammed our pizza into it and it was completely smooshed. I then brought it up to the servers and showed them while I asked for help. Another server told our waitress to give me a large box. So she did, but it felt like I had annoyed or bothered her. I can’t help but feel like maybe I did something wrong asking for a large box for my large pizza? I still tipped over 20% because again I’ve been a server before… But definitely will not be back despite really enjoying some of our other food we ordered. This experience was very uncomfortable for me. Perhaps if you want to come here maybe come during the day when the staff isn’t...

We drive 20 miles to come here and have for years.. service has been so bad past couple years we stopped going. (Waitress more interested in infomercials on tv than waiting tables).. we eventually came back and there is a new younger staff.. on to TODAY 8/6/23 we arrived, were seated….. and then ignored for about 10 minutes we sat with no drink, no hi i’ll be right with you.. nothing. When my partner mentioned loud enough for bartender to hear that 2 tables that arrived after us already had drinks and plates.. the bartender brought us drinks and we tried to order and she said ‘i’m not your waitress, she should be by soon’.. we waited 5 minutes and still no one came over.. mind you all 3 front of house waitresses made eye contact and chose to ignore us.. having enough disrespect we stood up an told bartender we were leaving, she seemed to not understand or care. Called back to ask for a manager and was told none on duty today…

So dear management.. fire or retrain all of your waitresses that worked today because it was a total waste of a trip and you should be...

They have an excellent Chicago deep dish. Sauce was not sweet, which I loved, and is nicely seasoned with Italian spices. Watch out for the platter the pizza is served on, sliding off the platter holder when trying to scoop a slice. The fried mushrooms were not overly cooked or over-breaded. They do have gluten free pizzas. Had to only wait 20 mins during the peak of prom. The wait time is probably far less in normal times. The majority of the space is seating, but (for as popular as this place is) the seating doesn't seem to be enough. To get to the bathrooms you have to go past the bar seating and into a worker galley way, so watch out for bumping into staff. The mens restroom was clean, but the door jamb casing has a rather large gap you can see through and is right next to the urinal. Overall highly recommended.

A co-worker on my husbands job recommended this restaurant. Glad he did. We really enjoyed the food. Started with a hot cup of french onion soup...broth was rich and flavorful. Salad wasn't bad. I would have preferred a little more romain vs the leafy greens. They give you the option of baked or fried Pretzel bites. The baked ones with the cheese was very good. Last but nit least, we tried a couple of the pizzas. The pizza crust is excellent and the toppings were good quality ingredients. The service wasn't bad and parking could be better. We plan on definitely returning.

They are not shy with their portions. The bacon jalapeno cheddar bread was at least 12" in diameter with a heaping bowl of ranch. Delicious spices on this cheesy bread. The Greek salad full order was enough for a full meal and then some. Dressing comes on the side, and it comes with pita bread. Meatballs were really hard, couldn't be sliced with a fork, and the flavor was nothing to call home about. The tomato sauce was... Ok. Parking is pretty easy and it's near a lot of small markets and shops, so it's a good place to visit and take a stroll around the town.
