We (party of four) had been here once before and it was good so we decided to give them another go. Unfortunately after driving an hour to get there, we asked for a booth and they said only one high top was available. We can clearly see open booths in the back. We were turned down from indoor seating because they were holding on to the booth in case a larger party would come. We took an outdoor table at first, but the outdoor seating is subpar and right next to construction. No TVs or fans or anything on the exterior so we once again asked if it was possible to sit indoors to no avail. We ended going elsewhere, so in the end they still ended up losing business.
After owner's response:
Hi Sean, thanks for responding, but I think your version leaves out some important details. You actually were not there during our visit or at least you were not the one to attend to us. The staff told us they could not guarantee a booth because of the football game. There was never any mention of simply waiting, only that a booth was not an option. If waiting had been offered, we would have gladly done so.
Last time we visited, we ordered three pizzas and garlic knots and the booth we were given barely had enough space for everything. A high top is noticeably smaller and really not practical for a group of four eating family style. That is why we specifically asked for a booth.
It was after 5pm Sunday with the Bucs game already over, there was no line at the door, and the back area we asked about was open at the time. I completely understand saving a large table for bigger parties, but it is frustrating when paying customers are standing there ready to order, especially after driving more than an hour to eat there, and are turned away for the chance that a bigger group might show up.
I am not holding you to an “unreasonable standard.” I am simply expecting to be treated fairly and to have been given the option to wait if a booth is what we preferred. Instead, your staff denied that possibility, and your response ends by telling us to dine elsewhere if we are not satisfied. That is exactly what we ended up doing, and I imagine most customers would do the same if put in that position.
Once again, I appreciate you taking the time to reply, but my review was never meant to go back and forth with you. It was simply to share my own experience so others know what to expect. I truly do wish you and your business continued success, and I hope that success is sustained by valuing the customers already in...
Read moreThe food is amazing. The issue is with the order/delivery. I called today at 12:20pm to order 3 large speciality pizzas and garlic knots. I asked for the crab Rangoon pizza but she said it’s only available a few times a year and I couldn’t have it today. Okay. I was asked when I wanted it delivered and I said asap. I was told “sure we can do 1:20pm”. I paid $110 over the phone and asked if I could add a tip for the driver and was told “no but you can add a tip when you sign at delivery”. Okay, so that was the plan. At no point was I told “hey it’s a holiday so we’re extra busy” I was simply told “an hour for delivery”. I was putting my toddler down for a nap and missed the few calls from this pizza shop at 1:36, 1:37, and 1:45. I called them at 2:00 to see where the pizza was (I ordered it to be delivered to my husband at work for his staff). I was told, “we got really busy all of a sudden out of nowhere so we are running behind today but your driver just left”. She wasn’t rude but she wasn’t friendly. Alright, so 3 minutes later the driver called to say he just left and would get there in 12 minutes. So by the time it got there, it turned into a 2 hour delivery. I do realize it’s a holiday, I know there’s a bar next door to this shop, I know people work hard to make all their customers happy, it can get busy out of nowhere, but with that being said, I’m pretty disappointed in this place today. At any point while I was ordering if I was told “it’s 2 hours for delivery” then so be it but I was promised 1 hour. I was scheduled to have delivery at 1:20 and they didn’t even call me until 1:36 to say “hey we’re running behind”. It very much feels like we were forgotten and they took care of customers in the store prior to making my order. The food has always been phenomenal, and I’ve never had an issue with this place until now. This could have been fixed by simply calling me in a timely manner to say you were too busy to get my order to me on time. There’s no shame in saying that, things happen. I get it. But please work on your communication with your customers. Will order again in hopes that your communication changes and the...
Read moreMy daughter sent me a link to a bloggers review of Madison Ave Pizza and their outrageous 32 inch pizza. I was intrigued, so I told family if we could muster 7-9 people, including my grandson and his friend both 15, we would come. We actually mustered a crew of 8. My daughter, her daughter & a friend, the two teens mentioned before, our youngest granddaughter, my wife and I. So off we were off right after church and called ahead.
We arrived about 12:45 and our table was waiting. We discussed which four pizza creations we would get and decided upon Chicken, Angry Pepperoni, Margherita, and Vegetarian. We were going to avoid any starters to do our best to finish the 32 inch. But when we were told the pizza would take an hour, due to orders ahead of ours, we decided to get large antipasto and regular salads and an order of fries. The hungry look of five 14 to 21 year olds was scary!
Our salads and fries came and were passed around and thoroughly enjoyed. Finally we were told our pizza was on the way out so I quickly positioned myself to capture the moment on video. Holy Cow Batman! The Largest Pizza in Florida was huge! All enjoyed looking it over and taking pictures, but we were more than ready to dig in!
Now was the only negative thing about our visit was that we asked that the pizza be cut in the normal 8 pieces so the kids could get photos of each with a gigantic slice, then we could cut the slices up. It was not. I guess they figured it would be easier to share. We did and it was excellent!
However, we did out best but there enough left over to make a medium pizza for the boys to take come. Our server, Olivia, was wonderful. She kept checking on us before and after Godzilla arrived. A bit loud at times but we will definitely be back - just not...
