From the moment I stepped into Cricketers British Pub & Restaurant, I was whisked away on a delightful journey across the Atlantic, right in the heart of Dunedin, Florida. This charming establishment is a haven for both locals and tourists, offering a perfect blend of British authenticity and Floridian flair.
The culinary experience at Cricketers is nothing short of spectacular. Their Famous Fish & Chips were a hearty delight, with generous portions that left me more than satisfied. The fish was perfectly crispy on the outside, tender on the inside, and the tartar sauce was a creamy dream, adding the right amount of zing. And let's not forget the malt vinegar – an absolute game-changer that elevated the entire dish.
But the gastronomic adventure didn't stop there. The Half-and-Half beer, a smooth blend of Guinness and Harp, was a frothy masterpiece that perfectly complemented my meal. It's clear that Cricketers takes their beverage selection seriously, boasting an impressive array of craft beers, wines, and signature cocktails.
The atmosphere is just as inviting as the menu. Located a stone's throw from the Gulf of Mexico, the pub's setting is ideal for a post-beach refreshment or a casual evening out. With over 28 TVs, the place is a sports enthusiast's paradise, offering an unobstructed view of every game, from NHL to European football.
What truly sets Cricketers apart is the warm, hospitable vibe. Genie, the bartender, was the epitome of graciousness. She readily tuned into the Iowa vs. Maryland women’s basketball game, ensuring that me and my companion, the judge, could enjoy our evening to the fullest.
In summary, Cricketers British Pub & Restaurant is more than just a pub; it's a vibrant community spot where great food, fantastic drinks, and friendly faces come together to create unforgettable experiences. Whether you're a sports fan, a foodie, or just in search of a good time, Cricketers is the place to be. See you soon for another round of fish and chips and Half-and-Half!...
Read moreMy wife and I were out running errands in northern Dunedin, with a quick stop for passes for Honeymoon Island State Park. Checked the area and decided to check out Cricketeers. This was about 1:30 PM on a Friday. Place was pretty busy but seated right away.
Our server Alii, not a boxer, brought menus and water. I thought since it was a British pub, we could try some items from our trip there 20 years ago. I decided to try a Scotch Egg since we’ve never had it. “Hot or Cold” asked Allí. Well I enjoy cold hard boiled egg but cold sausage? I chose hot. My wife, always the anti-adventurous eater chose a Cheesesteak Sub with Onion Rings. In a British Pub??? Since one of our fav memories was a hot fish filet and chips rolled in newspaper, I went with the Fish & Chips, also with Onion Rings.
In a bit our Scotch Egg arrived hot, and accompanied by sliced tomatoes and onions plus two kinds of relish, both pretty sour. I’m not sure if Scotch Egg is an aquired taste, but not for me. I know Brits don’t season heavily but the sausage was very bland. I even tried the different sauces, tomato & onion. Nope. And I loved Haggis, much stranger.
After a short wait our lunches arrived. My wife’s Cheesesteak was very good. Soft bun, juicy meat and fried onions. Not the best ever but ok for a British pub. My Haddock filled the plate, just like the review pictures. It was super! Only missed the newspaper cone to take me back to England. My wife agreed. But the keystone was the Onion Rings! Crisp, hot, lightly breaded and muy delicioso! And the final delight was great coleslaw.
Of course the plates were large and we could not finish, so a later meal also. Next time maybe Shepherd’s Pie or Pasty. My wife will probably have cheesesteak - no adventure! Great food, wonderful service,...

I truly enjoyed the atmosphere made me feel as if I was at an actual pub back home but it's just false advertising for British food. the servers were lovely and very attentive to our needs.
AS a real brit born and raised in Luton I was absolutely devastated to think that Americans are over here thinking that's what actual British food is like it was awful. the Scotch egg was off (spoiled)I'm sure it was pre-made far then microwaved, the sausage was all wrong grainy and the breading that they had on the outside is separated in such a weird way the egg yolk was actually a greenish color then sitting on a plate full of sliced tomatoes this weird yellow jelly, hp sauce and pear onions very odd choice. Our server popped over to check in so I asked the server to get something else because there was something wrong with it they still tried to charge us $11 for it even though I explained what was wrong with it.
I had high hopes for the bangers and mash but sadly when it arrived to the table it was mostly a plate full of peas with the most pathetic excuse for a scoop of mashed potatoes I've ever seen sickly beer-flavored bisto gravy was mingin. it's basically just an American sports bar where the load of Union jacks in British memorabilia all over the walls don't bother if you're actually British there'll just be...
