When we arrived, we were greeted by Joey. He was very nice and welcomed us to the hotel. The young lady (Anya) that has been working 2nd shift, has greeted me with a smile that made me feel welcomed every day . I have noticed, Anya smiles all the time as she is working with guests. The morning crew that works the breakfast area have all been very nice and welcoming as well. I have been surprised by how personal the staff is here. Hazel, one of the breakfast crew, is such a nice and friendly woman. I mentioned, in passing that my wife and I had visited the beaches near by. She said, I haven’t seen her. I explained that my wife likes to sleep in, she offered to get a plate together for her to have breakfast. This completely shows to me that she cares for the guests here. The level of hospitality at the Dunedin Hampton Inn, has been refreshing. This location is still fairly new, (about 5 months old) but you will feel like they’ve been open much longer. The staff here, from what I can tell are all on point. I am excited to give a review of this location. The décor here is very nice, from the bench in the lobby (has power ports) to the lounge (breakfast area). The furniture is all very nice. The room that we have been staying in is very nice. This hotel has 15 rooms with balconies that have a view of the bay. The best floor to stay on is the 4th floor if you are getting a balcony. Another nice thing about the hotel is, the parking garage under the hotel. There are 26 spaces, this includes 2 handy cap spaces, that are first come, first serve. They also have a large parking lot. They have a nice outdoor pool, there unfortunately is not a hot tub. The only thing that I do wish they had, is an on site is a guest laundry area. This is not a deal breaker though, as there area few laundromat’s somewhat close by. All of the staff as I have said, have been very nice and attentive to the service of the guests. Other hotels in the Hilton brands, could learn something about how to treat the guests. My over all rating of this location is 10...
Read moreMy husband and I just spent 6 nights at the Dunedin Hampton Inn. It was a much nicer Hampton Inn than others that we've stayed at. Our king room was huge and we liked having a big bathroom too, with a very large counter to hold all of our things. The room was very quiet, and we didn't hear any noise from neighboring rooms, and also didn't hear much street noise. Wish the bed hadn't been so hard, as I woke up achy each morning. The hotel is very clean and modern. I was very surprised that the rooms were cleaned only every other day. We've never stayed anywhere without daily service. We often needed more towels or toilet paper, and were able to get them from the front desk. For the price we paid per night, I expected daily cleaning. The pool area was very nice, wish we could have enjoyed it more but the weather didn't cooperate. The breakfast was just ok. There was a bit of variety from day to day. One day there were scrambled eggs which were very good. The other days there were pre made omelets with processed cheese which was not great. Also, the hash browns were lukewarm and some were hard and not cooked thru. The coffee was good, though! The women who work in the breakfast room were super nice and did a great job of keeping it clean and replenishing items.
The ice maker on our floor was out of order the entire length of our stay. It was not convenient to take the elevator down a level, and walk down a long hall way just to get ice every day.
Overall we really enjoyed our stay. I'm giving it 4 stars rather 5 due to the hard bed, breakfast being just ok, housekeeping every other day, and the ice maker being broken. Regardless of these things I really do recommend this hotel!
Btw, downtown Dunedin is great with wonderful restaurants and lots...
Read moreThis is a decent one-night stop if you are just staying overnight. But I wouldn't choose it for a vacation stay. The rooms were clean, roomy and adequate. There is an outdoor pool and a breakfast buffet. But the service leaves something to be desired.
We checked in on the Hilton app for two connecting rooms: the digital key for one room was never delivered. Of course, we didn't know that until we got to the fourth floor and couldn't get in the room. An unplanned trip down to the front desk.
The desk clerk did offer me bottled water and made keys to the room for me. I also got details on the pool from him. After opening the other room, I went down to the car to grab some luggage. This time, the digital key that was delivered wasn't recognized by the elevator, so I couldn't get back up to the room. I had to call you to my party and have someone come down with a key to gain access to the elevator.
Then my daughter and her fiance went down to go swimming. I walked down with them to get something else from the car, and found the pool too be locked -- less than five minutes after the deal clerk told me it would be open for another two hours. Another trip to the front desk to have him come unlock the pool.
The next morning, as my son and I were preloading the car with some of our luggage, a hotel worker (looked like a desk clerk per Manager, based on her attire) asked if we were leaving. I replied that we weren't leaving yet.
Not once during this stay did anyone greet me or anyone in my party or make us feel welcome. We received the exact opposite of the kind of service I've come to expect...
