We drove an hour from the Villages on the recommmendation by a friend. It was well worth the drive! The first item special to catch my eye was Corvina. My son-in-law is from Panama and we traveled there a few years ago. Corvina is a staple there and we loved it. Five of our party of six ordered Corvina and the other Rainbow Trout which came with a choice of yellow rice or sauted green beans. Our food was great. We also had the lobster and scallop cream based chowder and the Manhatten tomato based fish chowder. The cup was actually served in a bowl and enough for two. Both were supurb. The salad was fresh and well appointed. To top things off we had a heaping serving of Mahi fish dip. Wow was that good! Our meals were $16.99 and well worth the price based on the amount and quality of the food. We will definitely go back to this restaurant. I purchased fresh Cod from Simply Seafood on Friday, December 5th, 2014. The counter gentleman needs to rewarded for great customer service. He helped me pick the perfect fish for my dinner and we discussed how it should be fixed. THE COD WAS OUTSTANDING. I cannot praise the fish enough. It was fresh and delicious. I baked it in the oven at 425 for 15 - 20 minutes (until it easily pulled apart with a fork) - topped it with some melted real butter, juice of fresh lemon, salt,pepper ,sliced tomatoes w/ Parmesan cheese (uncovered) I then moved it to the top rack and broiled until the cheese was a nice golden brown. How can you not like it visit your locally owned and operated businesses? Especially this fish/seafood store? LOVE this place. I'm pretty sure they've been there for about 16 years! When I moved to the area 2 years ago I was so grateful to have discovered it. They have so much to offer in that little store. Lots of fresh fish, beautiful tuna steaks (sushi grade), same with the salmon. And the scallops, oysters, clams are so fresh and delicious. They make a variety of salads. Like calamari salad, seaweed salad, dips and even meals for daily special to go. There's a freezer cooler with hard to find items like smelt and squid tubes, crab and so many other items I just can't remember. So next time you're out stop in and check it out. I guarantee...
