I love burgers and decided to try this place because of the name. I ordered the largest burger on the menu which is supposed to have 3 burger patties on it. When it arrived it had a bunch of chopped up pieces of burger on it instead of three burger patties. Since I'd payed quite a a bit for their largest burger I took the burger to the lady that was taking orders and complained that my burger didn't have 3 patties like I'd payed for. I showed her all the chopped up pieces of hamburger in my burger. Instead of replacing my burger she just told me that it was in fact 3 patties on it. I told her that I'd payed a lot for my meal and I wasn't satisfied with it. To my amazement she then went and got the cook who came up to the counter and asked me to open my burger. When I did he proceeded to point out to me how all the chopped up pieces of meat on my burger did in fact add up to 3 whole patties. By now the line was building up behind me and the server had come up to stand beside the cook and the girl who took orders. I guess all 3 of them were ready to tell me that I was wrong. Anyway, I was so flabbergasted at this point that they hadn't just replaced my burger that I gave up, re-assembled my "burger" and took it back to my table to try to choke it down. I really wasn't in the mood to get into a full blown argument with all 3 employees over the contents of my burger. Anyway, when I pay almost $10 for a 3-patty burger I'd like to see either 3 ENTACT patties or (if they cut the burger in half) 6 half-patties. Not a bunch of small pieces of burger that can be proven by the cook to in-fact add up to 3 patties! If some of the patties fell apart while being cooked the cook should have replaced them instead of scooping up the pieces and piling them on a burger. Anyway, their poor service and disregard for their customers satisfaction is why I'm giving them 1 star.....otherwise based on the taste I would have given them 2 or 3 stars. On to the taste. The buns were good....soft, unique and better than most burger places. The meat was poor quality and tasted like the cheapest frozen patties you get at your local supermarket. Surprising for a place that calls itself burger barn. The place was fairly busy. I'm not sure why - perhaps there is not much to choose from in Dunsmuir. I won't be returning and I suggest you take your money somewhere where it will get you a better burger and...
Read moreWe visited the Burger Barn as my nephew and his friends will be playing baseball at the College of the Siskiyous this year. We were looking for a burger joint not too far from Weed that wasn't too expensive..I think we found it with Burger Barn..
BB Service: We were greeted immediately as soon as we entered. Burger descriptions aren't posted but the cashier answered all our questions and was so friendly. The kitchen was quick with getting our 3 combo orders hot and fresh to the table, nice work.
BB Burgers: I went with the Barn Burner which was tasty and spicy. The jalapenos, spicy cheese and condiments brought out the flavor and the patty was cooked medium. Nephew when with the barn stormer and he enjoyed his burger as well. The fries come out fresh if you make it a combo, and we all did.
BB Ambiance: There's definitely a small town diner feel with the overall decor. I enjoyed seeing the pics adorning the wall of locals who served (thanks for your service) and historical pics of Dunsmuir. Our booth tables was clean when we sat down to dine.
Overall, if you find yourself in Dunsmuir and you're looking for a tasty burger, the Burger Barn has you covered. Friendly local service and tasty burgers makes this a nice...
Read moreSo I called in an order and was told 10-15 minutes. When I showed up, no one even said hello. I had to initiate conversation with someone who was blankly staring at the computer, unmoving. Then when she read back my order she said it wrong, and when I asked for clarity she rolled her eyes at me and said "thats not what I said" in a rude tone. I had to wait an additional 10-15 minutes because they didn't even bother starting it until I got there. Once I finally got the food I checked it. I didn't realize the burgers don't come with fries, my bad. When I asked to place an order I was told no. That they are closed. I pointed to a sign clearly stating their hours and she said "nope special hours" even though the sign said those hours were until 730. I just left and when I got into my car, it was 700. And the chicken strips and onion rings I got were way over cooked. If they had been bothered to make my order when I called, i would have had time to see the fries missing and get it corrected. Will not be back. It's sad, this place used to be good. I eat here, well used to now, all the time. Guess customer service and basic manners are no longer part of...
