Guys, this is finally legit boba. THIS IS SO EXCITING! So delicious and so many options! I've been to the Raleigh and Durham locations once each and been wowed both times. They actually brew real tea (the rose tea is delicate and clearly discernible), and I can't speak for the fruit ingredients but they use real taro too: had yummy sandy bits all over my drink. Imo many lower quality boba places assume that you go for the tapioca pearls so skimp on the other parts: tea is watery and tasteless or oversweet or worse from powder. Not moge! Speaking of which, the tapioca pearls at moge are perfectly cooked too. Chewy all the way through the center, coated in just enough sweetness but not overly so, and generously apportioned to last the whole beverage. I'm so happy that moge is now in Durham!
2022 update: unfortunately the quality has declined since they first opened. Perhaps the staff are now instructed to include less ingredients? Most recently I got a mango milk (wanted non caffeinated) that was 95% milk and hardly any mango. It’s disappointing since the other Moge locations I’ve been to in Raleigh, Edison NJ, and NYC are consistently good.
I will disagree with other reviewers about the taro tea. I like having real bits of taro. If you wanted powdered taro, there are lots of places...
Read moreI really regret spending money here. I've tried to like this place about 3 times, two times in person and once I got delivery. When I go in, they are ALWAYS understaffed and for these drinks to be so expensive there is no excuse to have this place running on skeleton staff 24/7. These poor bobaristas are stretched so thin even though they're literally in one of the most high traffic areas in Durham! That being said- with the way they're always operating on skeleton staff, Moge Tea is NOT performing well as far as actually making drinks. I'm sure the bobaristas are doing the best they can, but one of my toppings is always missing and I can't communicate to the staff about it because they're always so busy making the drinks. Toppings are expensive to add, and it doesn't feel good as a consumer to order a drink and look for ward to it only to sip it and be disappointed because something I paid extra for is missing. I want to like Moge Tea, especially because it's accessible from where I work, but it's hard when it feels like I'm just wasting money on a drink I know will disappoint. Moge Tea, please hire more staff and stop forcing your bobaristas to neglect...
Read moreThe inside space is cute with lots of seating. The music can be quite loud, it varies. There is wifi but no plugs. I always get my drinks very quickly. No food sold but you’re not supposed to bring in your own either. Big minus for not having any nondairy options.
They have quite a few unusual drinks, it’s hard to really compare with other boba places. I tried multiple drinks before I found one I liked (mango slush). The slushes are definitely the bigger focus on the menu compared to normal tea.
The worst thing about this place is the actual Boba. I got it for the first time today and it was so gross (tasted SUPER fake and plastic-y) that, after trying a few, I spit out the rest of the boba I got in my drink. Which was not a pleasant experience. Probably won’t come back because I just feel like I have to keep ordering the same thing...
