West 94th St. Pub — Restaurant in Durham

Never eaten here before. My 20 year old daughter and I decided to try it out for Fathers Day. My daughter had some wrap and said it was ok but she's had better. I had the fish and chips(fries) with coleslaw. I had two bites of the coleslaw as it was bland with no flavor. The fish(Catfish) look like two medium size fried mozzarella sticks. Tasted like it was frozen battered fish sticks and nothing close to fresh. Fries that came with it were warn, no hotness to them. Been to many places who do fish and chips that charge less than $15. This place thinks theirs is worth almost $19 with half the food serving another pub/bar would give you. I will not be going back to this establishment to eat. Seems like a cool place a local would hit up for drinks but...

The food was fantastic, the service was terrific and the atmosphere was great. Very small space, and if it was full it would have been problematic for my husband, but I dont mind a crowded dive, so know your limits and go on a week night if you are looking for lowkey. A total gem with true bar food that didn't try to be anymore than that and so it achieved that exceptionally well! The loaded tots were perfection. The mac and cheese with just a simple grilled chicken breast on top was divine! The bartender obviously had regulars which is always fun and he handled a busy room with great ease. The food came quickly, as did our refills. Very very pleased that we stumbled across this spot on our date...

I love this place. It's ecletic, fun, and always an interesting group of people to meet. The food is some of the best in South Durham. Beer selection isn't vast, but they have a few for each type of drinker and usually keep 2-3 craft beer taps. Mixed drinks are inconsistent based on the bartender, and I once got club soda in my old-fashioned, which made me sad. Often the bartenders are overwhelmed and it's hard for them to give good service, which can be frustrating when trying to order food on a busy night. Still, it's the best place for a late night drink and snack or hanging out with friends. Friday karaoke night is a can't-miss. It's a pub in all the best (and worst) ways. Can't help...
