Let me start off this review with if I can rate this spot 0 stars I definitely would. I ordered Sunday Dec 17 my partner and I are both Mexican so if you like authentic Mexican food worth your money DO NOT GO HERE! I place an order to go, I ordered chilaquiles enchiladas guacamole and a Hugo de 7 vidas and that was the only good part of my order. The chilaquiles were eaten because we were starving! I was in the middle of moving and planned to order out I paid 51$ for everything!!! The chilaquiles and enchiladas were disgusting and soggy. They put more cheese and sour cream than anything else. I picked up my order within 15 min and went straight home and the food was also cold. The worst part was the guacamole I eat it as my mean and it’s was dark brown!!! I didn’t have time to call them immediately because I was moving I was on a timely schedule so I called a few hours later. They wanted to remake my food but after my experience that was not an option. I still had the food and my husband usually cleans his plate but he could finish these soggy greasy enchiladas. I only wanted my money for the guacamole and the enchiladas. The young lady started questioning me on why I didn’t call earlier practically treating me like I’m looking for a hand out and they gave me a hard time and continued to go back and forth with me which made me so angry telling me that guacamole is sensitive but it doesn’t get that brown in 15 min. no manager and said their boss never answers their phone. She said I would get my money back but it was a lie it’s now Friday and I had to call yesterday for an update and their boss wouldn’t answer their phone again Iwill never...

Decided to give La Cecina a chance after recommendations from multiple family members and friends. To our dismay, we were more than underwhelmed.

To start, the presentation of all the food that came to our table was presented and plated nicely, but the flavor was lacking in comparison to other Mexican restaurants around the area. My chicken in my Breaded Chicken Torta tasted as if it was fried right out of a Tyson chicken nugget bag, not to mention that I thought my bread was toasted because of the crunch, only to find that the bread was just old and stale. My rice was flavorless and also had some crunch to it due to some dried out grains in my portion. Beans were not coming to the rescue either because although the flavor was there for me, they came out cold. Other than the Aguas Frescas, which steals the show, I don't think I'd be back for another meal.

Other than the food though, the service was fast. The waitress that served us (can't remember her name, I'm sorry!) was so nice and helpful and once we placed the food order the food was out to our table very quickly. We were also seated very quickly. Our waitress was also very attentive and was coming back frequently to refill drinks or take requests.

Pros: Fast service with a smile and top of the line Aguas Frescas

Cons: Bland and Cold food

I would not recommend anyone come here in it's current state for anything other than their...

We went in to have a nice family dinner and we went out disgusted. We asked for a side of fries to start with, but these fries tasted strongly like fish. The waitress offered to switch them, but the next batch tasted the same. Fine, we let it slide. For our meals, we asked for Quesadillas de Cecina and Tacos de Cecina and the meat was super, super, but super salty. I took my meat out and just had the quesadillas because my husband didn’t want to make a big deal anymore. But I did let the waitress know about the situation before we left, she even took an untouched piece of meat from my plate to taste for herself and she was horrified at how salty it was. My kids asked for chicken wings for their meal and same, those things were just so disgusting, they ended up eating absolutely nothing out of their plate. It was an awful dinner to say the least. Seems like this place fries their fish and all other fried stuff in the same oil which is disgusting. We were offered no discounts at all, no manager on site only two waitresses. Our waitress was wonderful and attentive the whole time, but the food was absolutely disgusting and this place will definitely get zero stars if I had the option. We will never go back to this place to...

Only giving two stars because I come from The original one on 47th and Winchester in Chicago! And the ceviche de camarón was ok. Even though it was really a cóctel (a lot of tomato juice). Ordered lomo en chile and tampiquena. Lomo plate was horrible. The steak tasted like it was old or not cleaned right. Considering I get this plate a lot, this meat wasn’t good. The frijoles had barely any flavor. They boast about the salad on the plate and it had 1 cucumber and 1 onion and 2 pieces of lettuce. Come on lettuce isn’t that expensive. Especially for $20+ plates. Safe to say, didn’t finish any of our plates. Extremely dispoaointwd everyone reviewed saying the skirt steak was good and that was a lie! The chile de árbol salsa was ok. The guacamole on the tamoiquena plate tasted OLD!! If you like authentic Mexican food go to the city!

I'm sorry this isn't a better picture but it was my left overs from La Cecina. This picture doesn't do the food justice. I ordered cheese and onion enchiladas suiza (melted cheese on top) hold the sour cream. The enchiladas came with a side of rice and beans. The food was absolutely delicious!! This was my first visit and it definitely won't be my last! I highly recommend going out and giving them a try. Oh I also had a steak taco with cilantro and onion on a corn tortilla ( not pictured because I got home and ate it) Yummm!!!
