Mt. Olive Mediterranean Grill — Restaurant in Dyer

We visited Mt. Olive Mediterranean Grill today for the first time, and what a gem! It’s a quaint little spot, but what it lacks in size, it more than makes up for in flavor and hospitality.

From the moment we walked in, the service was exceptional. Islam greeted us with a warm smile and welcoming energy, immediately making us feel at home.

My husband and I ordered two chicken shawarma bowls and a side of falafel. Chef Alex personally brought out our meals with so much personality and charm, even offering samples of grilled vegetables we hadn’t ordered—an unexpected and delicious surprise (and a big win for me because I love grilled veggies!).

Now, let’s talk about those chicken shawarma bowls. Absolutely phenomenal. They came out piping hot, fresh, and bursting with flavor—nothing tasted pre-made. The spices were perfectly balanced, and the portions were generous enough that I had to stop myself from finishing it all in one sitting so I could save some for later.

Oh my goodness! This place is the best! I will be back. I had the charcoal chicken. It was seasoned so well and chard. Very tender. They had a soft opening so they gave me an appetizer plate which consisted of eight items to taste.

The dessert was delicious. It was a cake with pudding or something in the middle and whipped cream on top which tasted homemade, not commercialized. The food is very healthy. They have complimentary lemonade which had no sweeteners. It was infused and very tasty and naturally sweet from the oranges in it. I think

DON'T WALK, RUN to the amazing new Mount Olive Mediterranean Restaurant.. I've visited 2 times in the last couple of weeks and WOW! The chicken shawarma wrap sandwich was bursting with flavor and the right amount of crunch with the pickled veggies and a side of labneh dip! On my first visit, they gave me a sample of their falafel as I was leaving. SO GOOD! I thought about it all week and had to go back for an order! The hummus is outstanding, too! I can't wait to go back and try more from their menu in hopes I can get away from the chicken shawarma wrap...it's that good!
