Dairy Queen Grill & Chill — Restaurant in Dyer

We've lived back in Dyer for quite a number of years, so we've gone to this Dairy Queen a lot.

So first, the good. The actual staff of this Dairy Queen is phenomenal (some of the best I've ever seen, extra surprising for a cheap/chain establishment) the restaurant is always clean, and the grill/hot food is rarely messed up and always tastes good. MOST LIKELY your experience here will be good, much better than a lot of the other places around the Tri-Town Area.

My real bone to pick with this location is the ice cream, specifically Blizzards. Whenever we go out for Blizzards, we always pay a little extra to get extra filling? Toppings? For instance, extra Oreos in an Oreo Blizzard, extra M&M's in an M&M Blizzard, etc.

I think I've been satisfied doing that MAYBE once or twice. We pay extra, and I feel like I get ever so slightly more fillings. It's honestly almost imperceptible to just ordering it normally. I look forward to actually getting extra fillings, so I keep paying for it, and I'm always wondering where it's at. I've actually come home a number of times with a Blizzard with "extra" in it, and it's had basically nothing. The times after that, I've gone back and just gotten it regular, and it's had the same.

Not sure if that's a corporate thing or this location, but for a great many years, when you paid for the extra, you got it, and now you don't. My advice with this location is to stick with the hot food, or just order the Blizzard normally because if you want extra filling you're basically...

This location was, by far, the best DQ we have ever visited. We have a family of 6, and upon arrival, we were personally greeted immediately by what I believe was the GM of the establishment, who wZ pleasantly friendly! The cleanliness of the restaurant was immaculate. The environment and atmosphere was superb. They were patient as we decided what to order. They have great deals and, for a family of 6, each one of us ordered lunch and dessert for about $30! We decided to dine-in, and the service was so fast, that we were personally handed some items before we even sat down! Upon seating, they had brought all of our items to us personally, only about 1 minute after having sat down! It was incredible service. The food and desserts were delicious! So I had never had tha food from here only ice cream and I was curious how tha food tasted because reviews said it pretty much taste like McDonald's & I hate McDonald's. Not only that but there was a guy who previously worked there and said they weren't all that but today I wanted ice cream and to try it out so when we spoke to tha gentleman behind tha counter I told him about tha review I read how it tastes like McDonalds and he reassured me it doesn't & that it tastes good.
