June 2025 Update - changing review from 5 stars to 2. The food quality has gone down drastically. When they first opened, everything was tasty and the ingredients were fresh. Now, it almost feels impossible to consume one of their meals fully because of the poor quality and lack of any flavor. We have stopped by almost every week and there has not been any change. Will not be returning. Good food and good service. We ordered the tofu burrito to go and it was excellent! Generous portions and very flavorful. Only call out is that there could have been more hot salsa added to the burrito. But we can’t wait to return!

Top 3 Mexican spots in the Twin Cities- easily. -Incredible service from the business owners as there talked about their food w so much passion and pride -the portions are generous -its easy to see that the meat is made in house as the cuts are tender, seasoned so well, again, well portioned. - the birria and asada is unreal. - love the corn tortillas - their vendor is giving good quality for sure; i think the flour tortillas are made in house - ordered 3 sides, 1 drink, and 6 tacos for $41 - this value in eagan surprised me in the best way possible!

Excellent street tacos loaded with your meat of choice and traditional toppings. We tried the barbacoa, carnitas, and the al pastor. All three were tasty, but I’d say the highlight was the barbacoa. Which means the birria options are next on my list to try. They have 6 tables that seat 4 people and two that seat 2. Order at the counter and they bring your food out. No alcohol. They do have vegetarian options - tofu and veggie burrito bowls and I’m sure you could build your own tacos. Great place to stop if you’re in the area. Legit Mexican. Yummy!

This spot honestly has some of the best Mexican food I’ve tried in the area. The asada tacos were perfectly seasoned and juicy, while the al pastor had that perfect balance of smoky, savory, and just the right touch of sweetness. What really tied it together was the green salsa, which was bursting with flavor and added the perfect kick to every bite.

I also ordered a torta, and it did not disappoint. The bread was light yet sturdy, with just the right texture to hold everything together without being too heavy. Every bite was layered with bold flavors that worked beautifully together.

To drink, I had the horchata and the jamaica. The horchata was creamy, refreshing, and not overly sweet, while the jamaica had that rich, tangy hibiscus flavor that makes it such a classic. Both were excellent and paired so well with the meal.

The service was friendly and welcoming, which really added to the whole experience. The atmosphere is relaxed and comfortable, making it a great spot to sit down, enjoy, and take your time with the food. Overall, it’s a place I’d absolutely recommend for anyone looking for authentic, flavorful Mexican food in the area. Will be coming back to try...

My partner and I just had dinner here and it was DELICIOUS!! We walked into a very welcoming environment. The workers were so sweet and helpful with the menu. We had chips and queso, carne asada tacos, and a chicken burrito. The tortillas were so good and fresh. It reminded me of being in Mexico at a street taco stand. The chips were good! Not thin like most places. Queso had great flavor. My tacos had a yummy sauce on them and I was able to add toppings to spruce them up (even though they would have been good without. I’m just extra sometimes) meat was good and tender. I had 3 tacos and they were good size. The burrito was huge! All in all it was great food, lovely atmosphere, and decent prices!! We will be back :) Note: they do not have a fountain pop machine or offer water cups. You do have to buy a water or variety of pop. Not a deal breaker for us though. Just to be mindful if you have kiddos or...

We had a great experience at El Compa! We ordered the carne asada bowl, carne asada fries, corn in a cup, guacamole, and birria tacos—everything was delicious and clearly made fresh. The flavors were on point, and the food came out hot and satisfying.

The staff greeted us warmly as soon as we walked in, took our order quickly, and the food was brought to our table in just a few minutes—great service!

The only reason I’m giving 4 stars instead of 5 is the atmosphere—it was a little warm inside, which helped keep the food hot but made it slightly less comfortable to dine in. Also, I wish they had more drink options for those avoiding caffeine and sugar—something beyond just water would be great.

Overall, a tasty and welcoming spot—we’ll...
