ABSOLUTELY TERRIBLE CUSTOMER SERVICE FROM MGMT AND WAITSTAFF. DEFINITELY WILL NEVER EAT HERE OR RECOMMEND TO OTHERS EXCEPT TO STAY AWAY!
Ate at the one in Aurora, Co. Excellent service, food and experience so i wanted to try the one near my house in MN.
1st off the hostess did a poor job of greeting us.
While sitting waiting for food, we could see her texting on her phone. She didn't wash her hands before grabbing customer plates and dropping off food. The window sill was dirty. No idea how long the bits of food were there. Should be cleaning the window sill instead of playing on phone.
Never came over to check to see if we needed anything after dropping off our food.
We had to get their attention for extra napkins.
Food - The popcorn shrimp was overcooked and the ribeye tacos were covered with coleslaw to hide the small quantity of ribeye one is ordering. All other places put the meat on top. When you are paying $14 for 3 tacos, you don't want $3 worth of meat.
Finally we asked for the bill to go while we have every dish and cup on our table BUT the server was excited then because we were leaving and expecting a tip.
Still did not take one plate or cup from our table before or after dropping off our bill
The bill suggested a 18,20 or 22% tip. REALLY???
OUR TIP - $0. Terrible service equals $0 tip
I've been in the waiting business for more than 10 years when I was younger and you EARN your tip not EXPECT a tip.
Won't ever eat here again. Appears management should stress to the employees keeping the store clean, not handling plates when touching their nasty phones and finally cleaning up plates before giving a bill suggesting a...
Read moreWhile I don't usually review chain restaurants, I'll make an exception for Bonchon...because Bonchon's Eagan location IS exceptional. I went in expecting delicious food, since it was recommended by Korean friends, but I didn't expect a sparkling clean, full service restaurant with food that filled me with joy. My son and I showed up after a vigorous walk, and I decided we should try as many dishes as possible so I could get a feel for the food. Fried chicken is the showpiece dish here, for good reason. We tried the soy garlic and spicy combo and I couldn't pick a favorite from two. They both were eat to the bone delicious, the double fried process creates tender, juicy meat and a batter that is nothing short of addictive. We had pickled radish and kimchi for sides and I really enjoyed the kimchi which was nicely spicy and not overwhelmed by garlic. We also ordered the pork buns which we both agreed were off the charts delicious. Tender bun with fresh, crisp cucumber and tasty pork belly. The slaw creates a bit of a mess with each bite, but worth it. I ordered the bulgogi as well and it was great, but not as vibrantly spicy as the other items. Hats off to the staff who were efficient, friendly and kept every table and surface clean-a really nice touch since we're still deep into the pandemic as of this writing. Now that I've tasted it, I honestly can't wait for my next trip-this place...
Read moreBonchon has amazing food—when they manage to get it right. Every time I've had Bonchon, I leave feeling like it was a terrible experience, but somehow the food was just good enough to make me give them another try many months later. This is the same experience at many locations I've tried across multiple states.
We arrived during a rush at 6:45 p.m. There was chaos at the entry area. Delivery drivers were standing everywhere, and parties waiting for tables were scattered. No clear line. There appeared to be one person working front of house, so it took more than 10 minutes for any dine-in party be acknowledged by staff, but we were then quickly seated. Then, it took just shy of 20 minutes to get glasses of water. We placed our orders, and it took 40 minutes for our mains to be delivered. We were given other tables' food twice. Our bill was given to the table next to us—and before all our food had even been delivered. When we got our bill, I asked if we could get the appetizer we ordered and were charged for, and it appeared at the very end of our meal.
Overall, Bonchon's food has always been just good enough to make us forget how reliably awful the experience is to get it. However, with the size of one of our favorite items (the Bonchon chicken wrap) shrinking every time we go, this might finally be the trip that sends us to a new Korean chicken place like bb.q Chicken or Kbop...
