Don't get me wrong, the food is incredible! One of the best locally owned restaurants in Eagle Pass when it comes to food. In customer service though, I list it as one of the worse. Expect long delays during peak hours due to the amount of people that eat there. But good food takes time. Expect rude teenagers working registers who seem to have only gotten the job because they know the owner, related, or part of a club. Aside from rude, they constantly get the orders wrong when packing to-go packages. I had to get in a habit of checking my food before I left. I can't tell you how many times I've gotten home and either there is a major item missing or wrong altogether. Forget calling in your order, they never answer. When they do, they seem pissed about the fact that they had to answer in the first place (probably because teenagers text more than actually socialize with live people).
In my last visit, my order was perfect, the staff was prompt with getting it to me, and here I thought it would be a great visit. Wrong. They charged me several times for the same order and the child at the register had no idea how to refund charges. Ended up waiting too long and my food was cold and they wouldn't change it out.
Why do I keep going back? Compared to other fried chicken restaurants (Popeye's, Church's, and KFC), this food actually tasted good.
I guess if you don't mind the service and the wait times for good food, go...

When growing up on Eagle Pass, I remember going here every several weeks when it was the older location the was next door. It had the crunchiest chicken and the gizzards with their flavorings the best.
I've been now a handful of times when I've visited EP throughout the years at this newer building/location and it's not as tasty as I remember it being when growing up.
The better service and experience has been when eating in the restaurant itself. That's when it seems that the better service and food is served. When going through the drive through, although they are nice, the food itself hasn't been as tasty.
The tenders are still almost like I remember as well as gizzards, but the regular chicken seems different.
In 2017 when the first LGBTQ+ Parade and Festival by EP SAFE took place at the San Juan Park, they were one of the vendors. I point this out because as far as I know, there isn't a directory of LGBTQ+ owned, operated, or friendly...
Read moreThere's not too many chicken places I recommend, even more so when in small town like mine. Rodee's is always busy and that's for a reason - their chicken is pretty damn good - Bush's Chicken good.
I remember as a teen, when we were lucky to splurge, my dad would get us Rodee's. I hadn't had Rodee's in YEARS. Let me tell you, I took a bite this year and AY GUEY!!!!! This yardbird still rocks.
Their meal deals are pretty reasonable and usually include a large side and a 2 little bottle of your favorite "Coke."
If you're ever down yonder, either passing by or losing your money at the casino and craving some good chicken, do stop by. Just remember, there's usually a small wait, even during off peak hours but so totally worth...
