I have been wanting to try this place out for a while so tonight was the night! I have been to their Steakhouse a couple times but never this location. After driving around trying to find a way in since the main road to this place is closed, I finally made my way to the restaurant.
Walking up to the joint you notice how bright it is! There's a huge screen in the front that omits a ton of light. It's pretty cool. I was instantly greeted by the sweetest host. She sat me at the sushi bar since I was eating by myself. This place was buzzin for a Friday night! People everywhere happy and eating.
My first server came up to me. Didn't really greet me or ask if I wanted something to drink. Asked me right away if I was ready for order. I was a little thrown off at how abrasive she was but I let it go since they were busy. I ordered my soup, Cali handroll and some crab rangoons with her.
After she placed my order she came out quickly with my soda and hot and sour soup. She walked off before I could get a chance to ask for napkins and utensils. I asked the hostess, Yooa for a setting and she was so apologetic about my server being so short and abrasive. She asked if I wanted another server so she was kind to take over my service. I'm honestly happy she did! She was amazing. She is honestly one of the sweetest people I have ever met! She was very warm and engaging. We need more people like Yooa out in the world.
For dinner I started with the hot and sour soup. It was decent. I appreciated all the woodear mushrooms and tofu in it. It did lack flavor but a little soy sauce helped. It had a good amount of heat. You don't notice it in the beginning but after a few bites the heat catches up to you. Yooa was kind and grabbed me a bowl of miso soup to make up for the interaction earlier. I enjoyed the soup very much! It was hot, salty and had a good amount of nori in it! The Cali handroll wasn't the most pleasant looking. They slapped it together really. Everything was shoved in and bulky. It tasted fine but esthetically it wasn't pleasing. The crab rangoons came out hot! They do use a thicker wrapper for the rangoons so the wrapper wasn't light and crunchy, it was pretty dense. The cream cheese and crab in the middle was savory and delicious! They are even good cold.
My meal was decent but it was the amazing service from Yooa and Shelly tonight. Shelly checked up on me and couple times to help out Yooa and she was great! I look forward to going back and trying other sushi...
Read moreThis was my first visit to Izumi’s, and while there were definitely some positives, there were also a few drawbacks that would make me think twice before returning.
I ordered the Teriyaki Chicken, which was priced at $20.99. While the quality of the food was solid, the chicken was tender, the marinade had a great flavor, and the vegetables were cooked nicely, I felt the portion size and quality didn’t quite match the price. It seemed a bit overpriced for what was actually served.
The fried rice was underwhelming. It barely had any vegetables and tasted more like plain rice with a light sauce rather than a flavorful, well-mixed fried rice dish. I was expecting a bit more depth and variety there.
One thing that stood out in a good way was the service, our server was friendly, attentive, and quick. The atmosphere was also enjoyable. It wasn’t overly noisy, which made it easy for our table to have a conversation without yelling over background noise, a big plus in my book.
However, the menu was confusing and hard to navigate. It listed only the names of dishes with no descriptions or photos, which made it difficult to know what you were ordering, especially for first-time visitors or those not familiar with Japanese cuisine. This lack of clarity also makes the restaurant a tough choice for people with dietary restrictions, such as gluten intolerance. There were no indicators or labels for allergens or special dietary options, and no guidance from the menu itself.
Overall, while there were some highlights like the service and ambiance, the pricing, menu clarity, and lack of accommodation for dietary needs make this a place I’d probably only return to if I knew exactly what I...
Read moreOur server was very friendly they also apparently have a $10,000 robot that serves the food. My food did not seem hot but it was not cold. I got lobster and steak and it didn’t seem like much. They probably could’ve done more veggies but other than that it was OK tasty add ginger sauce and Yum Yum sauce. The ginger sauce was pretty good. The salad was good but I had a lot of water in the bottom. She did replace the salad and also bring me extra dressing, the soup was standard for most of these hibachi type restaurants. Also, they do not cook in front of you. It’s cooked in the back and brought out the price did seem a little high for what you got I’m guessing maybe 2 to 3 ounces of chicken 3 to 4 ounces of steak I paid 35 I think for lobster and steak. Anyways, it was nice but I probably won’t be back to this one. It’s not that I don’t recommend it. It’s just Soso for me. my other family members might go back was...
