This was our first time eating here. The service and food were excellent. We were there mid-afternoon and there were maybe only six tables occupied by customers and very well spaced out. The hostess led us to a booth right next to an occupied booth at first, and we asked if we could sit one more booth away. (All other seated tables were at least 6 tables away from each other.)Her manner immediately changed and without a word, smile or nod, the hostess picked up our menus and moved them one booth over and walked away. It was the difference of night and day, immediately. And her demeanor stayed like that. When we walked up to the cashier to pay, she was standing leaning against the counter and never moved out of the way, never said anything like “How was everything?”“Have a nice day” or “Thank you for coming .” She said nothing and her facial expression was not friendly. Except for this employee, which unfortunately is the first person to greet and seat patrons when they arrive, this is a great place to eat. Our waitress was a sweetheart. I ordered the special ham&cheese wrap with cup of soup, but wanted it on wheat bread instead, and it was no problem. Food came out quickly. Everything was perfect. Cheesecake topped with cherries and whipped cream was delicious and the iced tea was fresh brewed and tasted wonderful. I would go back again. Just have to psych myself up for Ms...

I come here quite often with my family and friends and the food and atmosphere is always great. Been coming to the restaurant since about 2013 and have never really been disappointed until recently when I was there with my parents and other family/friends. We come often after Bible study meetings on Saturdays and more recently my mom ordered the 4 oz. chicken breast filet and what she received was definitely not 4 oz. judging by the size of it—it was very small/thin. We tried mentioning to our server about it and though she saw that she entered the right item in for the order, she would not offer to take it back to get a bigger piece. My father has been in the food service/culinary business for over 40 years and he knew it wasn’t 4 oz. The right thing to do would’ve been for our server to take it back without delay and getting the cook to give a larger-size. End of story. We should’ve asked for the manager to speak to but if this happens again we will. Case in point: satisfy the customer and make it...

Got to be one of the best experiences we had in recent times! When every place seems to be looking for the biggest buck they can make from you, this isn't the case at NHFR.. and speaking solely about the breakfast at New Holland Family Restaurant (didn't have other meals yet) NHFR has great food at a good price, coffee and tea is included on some items, maybe all the items i don't know, but the items we chose coffee came with it!! And how about pancakes instead of toast, who does that?! It's great, definitely will go back again and again... The staff is professional, went twice for breakfast and both times the waitresses have been top notch, I mean old school top notch professionals. A good waitress comes back to check on you a couple of minutes after they bring out your (Hot) food, just to make sure everything is ok and if you need anything, that's the top notch waitresses I'm talking about!! Oh and they know how to make an egg the way...

Delicious local fare! They had a dish called "ham balls" as a special of the day. I'm up for adventure, so I tried it, and I wasn't disappointed! Wow, they're good! Basically, they're minced ham, formed into generously-sized balls (at least 2" in diameter), with pineapple sauce on top. They came with "pineapple filling," which tastes like bread pudding, but with pineapple mixed in. I could totally imagine having that, not as a side, but as dessert, topped with a scoop of ice cream! I didn't realize what it was when I ordered it, so, along with the custom side (I chose their yummy potato cakes), I ordered an extra side of veggies. The complementary white rolls they brought out tasted homemade (definitely not the cheap stuff). Needless to say, I couldn't finish everything, so I had to wrap up the leftovers (along with two extra ham balls) to go. Our server Deneen was really sweet, too. She answered our questions nicely and was perfectly attentive.

I've been looking for a new diner in the area and this is the first place to check all the boxes. One of the few places I've found that you can get some decent food to fill you up for a very reasonable price anymore. The staff was extremely friendly and juvial, the food was pretty quick with lots of options. The few cons at this place are the solo/duo tables are a little cramped which isn't a huge deal and like most places in the area they under season the food a little but still notably above any other place in the area that I've had. Definitely will be stopping here a few times a month going forward. (For the breakfast fans, their pancakes > French toast)

Great little family restaurant that has the most varied menu I've ever seen anywhere. It was so hard to decide that I actually got two meals. One of their meal options is to choose three or four of their sides so I opted for four. I chose potato cakes, baked corn, broccoli salad and strawberry jello pretzel salad. Everything was absolutely delicious. I also ordered a cup of tea and was brought a pot of hot water and a basket of assorted tea bags, which was such a pleasant surprise. Our server was as sweet as could be and right on top of things. I can't remember when I've had a more pleasant dining experience!
